Brooke Chaplen, Reading FC player is already fighting cancer and has now announced her retirement. https://shekicks.net/reading-womens-brooke-chaplen-retires/ Retirement seems to be more ligament based than cancer based

Streich was the better player of the two and, as a striker, got more glory. I'm a little surprised, but not overly, that he got a QO

Christopher Ball, composer, conductor and clarinet teacher at the Royal Academy of Music has become the latest Denville Hall 'graduate' - http://www.christopherballcomposer.com/ Quite impressed that he was a composer specifically for recorders. I could not imagine they would actually ever play a decent tune and just be one shrill at different pitches. -

Not covering herself in any glory here either. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-61162784 I agree that she looks unlikely to reach old bones -
He looks thinner than the last picture of them both, although it's hard to tell. I share your fears.

There are millions of Bangladeshi's in the UK and I suspect they are trying to cater for them, Indian and Pakistani readers. The amount of Swedes are much lower and not as desirable readership wise I suspect. -
Didn't Fielding have cancer as well a while back? HTF is Aldred nearly 60?

Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

Desai Williams achieved his highest accolade at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles when he was part of the bronze-medal winning 4 x 100m Canadian relay team. He then took a Commonwealth Gold Medal in 1986 in Edinburgh and a silver in Brisbane in 1982, again in the 4 x 100m relay. However, two of his team-mates were Ben Johnson and Tony Sharpe, and all three of them were eventually proven guilty of doping. He rehabilitated himself as a respected athletics sprint coach before being fired in 2015 for sexual harrassment. He was given a lifetime ban in 2018 by Athletics Canada. That lifetime ban only lasted four years as Williams has died, aged 62. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/summer/trackandfield/desai-williams-obit-1.6417244 -
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm not going to say anything ignorant or crass as 'Who?' but reading all these replies from such a wide variety of posters, I am surprised I'm in the minority. I expected a few posts and that was it. Might as well check out what GG was all about....

David Keyte, former Hereford United chairman, has died - https://yourherefordshire.co.uk/all/sports-news/news-former-hereford-united-chairman-david-keyte-has-died-after-a-battle-with-cancer/ His reign not only saw Hereford's relegation from the Football league but their eventual liquidation. Safe to say he won't be much missed by HUFC fans. https://www.herefordtimes.com/sport/11261300.david-keyte-has-sold-hereford-united-for-1-claims-hereford-united-supporters-trust-vice-chairman-martin-

Gareth Davies, long-time Wrexham player and former Welsh international. Looks about ten years older than his age. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-61057175 Likely to get QO anyway from the BBC aside of any Ryan Reynolds involvement -
Apparently, according to imdb, Denning died last May in Oxnard, California. Not seen anything on a quick Google search to verify that though.

I looked into this and the editor is a Swiss personage who has edited other footballer Wikis. But there's nothing in any Serbian media and as he was also an international coach, I would have been surprised if nothing was noted at any point. 2011 could well be true but I can't find anything. These days I tend to err on alive until proved dead even if most of the pre 1930 footballers and some of the South American footballers from 1958 are likely gone.

That's an interesting report as it mentions his alcoholism. Bearing in mind football and rugby have always had a drinking culture, I wonder if some, but not all, these diagnoses are all to do with heading it if they are down to alcohol. Guess if the PFA doesn't help with research, we will never know either way. -
