There are many threads the death of a Emmy award-winning TV director and brother of Johnny Carson could go in, but comedians and writers is not it, especially when neither brother was any relation to Frank. My turn for the grumpy @Ulitzer95 post today.

Oldest Living football league players
Octopus of Odstock replied to Octopus of Odstock's topic in DeathList Forum
I'm working on the 1930 and 1931 players to add them to the main list later this year. One who won't make it is (or was) Chelsea's oldest player, Jimmy Smith who died on Friday. https://www.stamford-bridge.com/player.php?id=510&surname=Smith&firstname=James -

My sincere and deepest condolences to Thatcher and all who love him/her/it on today's news. -
1947. She was a newborn baby when the film was made. So she's 74. Was still alive in 2016 and not heard that she's died since. Would 'only' be 75 this year - https://romesentinel.com/stories/seneca-falls-hosts-its-a-wonderful-life-festival,24975

If IMDB is to be believed, Asa Teeter predeacesed his mother which after a little research, is confirmed here - https://extratv.com/2019/01/05/christine-mcguire-of-the-mcguire-sisters-dead-at-92/ but as Asa Ashcraft.

What research? You've missed Priscilla Montgomery, Michael Chapin and Lynne O'Leary Jameson. So there should be 8 left. Montgomery played a student at the ball, Chapin was one of the lads that were playing when Harry Bailey broke through the ice and Lynne O'Leary Jameson was baby Janie. Of those Patton, Coombs and Grimes are the most significant. It'll be a very sad day when there's no more Zuzu.

How many hits this year? (2022 Edition)

Bit harsh. I'm sure there will be more than one death this year. -

He's at home, albeit still ill with the after effects of Covid after deciding to discharge himself due the the hospital attempting to give him 'bio-weapons'. Corbyn, to what little credit he has, has made a statement that COVID is not a bio-weapon, it is a virus. O'Looney by name, O'Looney by nature.

Young Violet in the film. Gloria Grahame played the grown up Violet. I can't inbed a photo for some reason but that's a sad end/start to the year (delete where applicable)

Thoughts and prayers for all those running dead pools tonight.

Nick Mason is president of the Guild of Motoring Writer's but was not at the annual dinner and awards for the first time in forever. Make of that what you will.

and someone else who played their only game against Northern Ireland in the 1958 World Cup, Argentina's Norberto Boggio, has also died, on the same day as Cadek - https://sur24.com.ar/2021/12/dolor-en-carreras-por-la-muerte-de-pocho-boggio/

Exquisitely done. You cannot get much better than that. Impressed with the choice of music and the version used. Only one I was surprised wasn't on there was Samuel E. Wright.

Dementia afflicted footballers
Octopus of Odstock replied to Octopus of Odstock's topic in DeathList Forum
Thanks for this, I've updated the first post with all these extras. Not sure Breckin should've 'outed' so many are poorly but I personally think the more that are revealed, the more something can be done for them. -
I've entered again after............ umpteen years away. Couldn't bring myself to pick any racing drivers or Terry Medwin.

George Ryden has died. https://dundeefc.co.uk/news/george-ryden-1940-2021/ -
Not as many racing drivers on there as per previous years but I do note that many of the oldest footballers would've qualified - Arthur Bramley, Kenny McDevitt and Ray Ruffett for example. A heck of a lot of notable people died in Motorsport like Hazel Chapman, Carlos Reutemann, Nino Vaccarella, Andre Ribeiro, Chris Craft, Bobby Unser, Al Unser, Leslie Marr, Johnny Dumfries, Adrian Campos and so on not on that list... I'd argue they were more significant than someone who played 26 times for a lower league team.

Here's the annual BBC sports round-up of those who died in 2021. Does this cover any QO's? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/sports-personality/59655879

I note this from the link: Last month a 72-year-old woman from Barcelona was convicted of coercion and fined €60 for sending Mr Marín explicit and threatening letters. The woman - named only as Rosa - was also given a six-month restraining order preventing her from coming within 500metres of Mr Marín She should be able to achieve that now
