Who Should Make the Deathlist in 2022?

The two that really, for me, would be new lock-in additions are: Vic Elford (advanced cancer) Billy Bingham (in final stages of dementia) Both will get obits with no trouble at all. I'll also lob in Duke of Kent (Has been surprisingly active, but looks like utter shite and has done for a while) Nehemiah Persoff (Ancient, overweight and previous ill health) Jimmy Calderwood (Advanced dementia) - but you could take your pick from him and Joe Kinnear, Alan Peacock, Dave Watson, Mike Bailey and Tony Parkes, all of whom are in latter stages of dementia. Parkes and Kinnear especially so. Of the list: I would actually keep Mel Brooks on. This is on a gut feel and nothing to do with his general health, which seems excellent. He does look a lot frailer than, say two years ago to me. I agree with The Queen, Pope Benedict, Leslie Phillips, Jimmy Carter, Sidney Poitier being retained. I also agree Jerry Lee Lewis and Desmond Tutu should return. I'd also say cast-iron locks already mentioned (but in case anyone laughingly takes my opinion seriously); George Alagiah, Frank Field, Pele, Glynis Johns, James Watson The lock-in in terms of chances of dying, but not of getting an obituary is John Wickham. Has advanced MND. That is all.

Your list intrigued me, so I've gone back and looked at the differences. I hadn't seen Aputkhin's page on Wikipedia had been updated that he died in 2003, so thanks for that. I'll update my records and edit my post. I was also wondering why you didn't include Bencsics of Hungary and then I found this... https://www.magyarfutball.hu/hu/szemelyek/adatlap/108/bencsics_jozsef which I will update on Wikipedia. Thanks for this! Ranulfo Cortes died in 2000. Bravo I don't think I've found a date of death but I saw another report that referred to someone else or a few players as "the last surviving". Bravo wasn't on either list. Hovorka died 14th October 1996 (on numerous websites including Czech Wiki - https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A1clav_Hovorka) I can't find my records of why I removed Sesma and Villalba currently but I think in the latter case, it is similiar to the Bolivian's of 1950. There's no evidence they're dead, but equally there's no evidence of them alive.

4 1950 confirmed. Possible there's another 2 around but I doubt it. 17 1954 - at least 11 are definitely alive. I have doubts about 2 Turks (Bolatli and Dincer) and one Uruguayan (Souto) 55 1958 - most of whom are definitely still alive. Only a handful of hmmms 106 1962 but some of those are questionable but I'm sure will be filtered out as the years progress.

But in good news - there's a recent interview with Manuel Munoz from the 1950 World Cup - where he confirms team-mate Andre Prieto is also still alive. Munoz is a fair shout of the 4 remaining to be the last standing. https://www.latercera.com/el-deportivo/noticia/manuel-colo-colo-munoz-hubiera-sido-una-verguenza-llevar-mi-apodo-a-la-b/HITUEIBYSFA2FIQRS4CBRVRIQ4/

There are now less than 20 remaining players from the 1954 World Cup. A bit of research has found Marcel Mauron, thought to be the last Swiss survivor, died in 1998. (I've updated Wikipedia). Looks like Park Jae-Seung died in 2015, so he was the last Korean survivor. Alfredo Torres of Mexico IS still going, but only just - at 90 years of age, he is 'delicate'. https://thenewstrace.com/pistache-torres-legend-of-atlas-left-the-hospital-after-being-reported-as-delicate/193766/

Just an aside to confirm Jimmy Binning died in the 1990's - https://blantyreproject.com/2019/06/ian-jimmy-binning-footballer/ so Ian McMillan is the only surviving member of the squad, albeit he didn't travel. Denis Law, now 81, is the oldest living Scot to have played World Cup Finals football (1974) and behind him it's Willie Morgan, now 77.

You should be thankful it's only one year behind. I remember the days when I had to go to Westminster as all records stopped in 2006 online. Trawling through 5 years of records took forever.

2014 DDP Dumping Ground & Salvage Lot

This will get filled up more near or past January, but I've had to cut - at a self-imposed deadline a number of people - 76 potential picks down to 40 for the one-month-to-go-deadline. So here's an alternate DDP entry list of 20 of those who I'm sure will either die but had to drop for tactical or obit doubt reasons, and others that I've just got a hunch that they'll survive***; **** (if some of the below announce terminal cancer diagnoses or similiar in the next 4 weeks, I reserve the right to repick them) I wonder how these 20 will end up comparing with the picked 20. Mario Oriani-Ambrosini Casey Kasem Superstar Billy Graham Ronnie Biggs Naomi Thomas Anto Finnegan Clive Derby-Lewis Chick WIllis King Bhumibol Lynda Bellingham Clark Datchler Robert Schuller Bobby Heenan Henry McCullough Jimmy Hill Adolfo Suarez Joe McGinniss Tony Dorsett Terry Biddlecombe Fernando Ricksen

Good find! You would expect to mention her father if he was alive. I think the reason it mentions the in laws is because one of them was alive (it's badly worded but I'm going for Rex being deceased and his wife being alive) therefore th y are mentioned in the obituary. As her parents were already dead, if this is to be interpreted this way, then they wouldn't be mentioned.

I had heard rumours about Hampson moving to Australia but this cements it somewhat. Thanks for your efforts, I'm going to try and tie as many of these off in 2022.

He did mention Remembrance Day specifically. I'm going for dead. However I've tried to contact either the webpage or the son.
