    The Chequered Flag

Ah well done. Guess that list also accounted for no end of footballers too? I missed it at the time, just seen it today.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/sports-personality/55363864 Tom Belso gets a qualifying obit!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/sports-personality/55363864 Very noticeable that Woan, Jones, Lawrence etc etc are remembered in the BBC 2020 sporting deaths. In short, a lot of those who have died would get qualifying obits.

Tommy Docherty dead as per numerous other threads. I'll update the front page in due course.

Maybe now some people will realise that this list is a very useful one for DDP (or whatever death pool) purposes than just trashing the idea.

Derek Ufton gets the Daily Mail treatment. Seems well. Article also confirms the five oldest England Internationals. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9076781/amp/Englands-one-cap-wonder-Derek-Ufton-oldest-surviving-star-Three-Lions-aged-92.html?__twitter_impression=true

Johnny Gibbons doing well. In one of the replies, it is also confirmed Les Dicker is still alive. Delighted to share a recent photo of 95-year old John Gibbons. John was a professional with Tottenham Hotspur between 1950 and 1953 and who we believe is the oldest surviving ex-Spur today. Good on yer John and COYS! https://t.co/Bk4IE7Pieo

Former Ferrari team manager of the 1950's to early 1960's, Romolo Tavoni, has died at the age of 94. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ilrestodelcarlino.it/modena/cronaca/addio-romolo-tavoni-un-grande-modenese-stretto-collaboratore-di-enzo-ferrari-1.5837381/amp

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

Sir Jackie is absolutely fine. Just watch the zoom video of him and Princess Anne from last week for a proper study of form. I'm in touch with him at least once a month and if there were serious issues I would know (and ergo, so would you!)

    Celebrity vaccination.

Fowler looks thin but not as skeletal as before. Think he might last longer than thought

    Michael Schumacher

Schumacher is, and likely never will be the man he was. But he wouldn't be my choice to put on the DL list. It would take a bad luck of complications for him to die soon I think. A much better choice would be Sir Frank Williams.
  16. Octopus of Odstock

    Sir Frank Williams

He's more poorly than this statement let's on. That's all I can say currently.

    Dying Off The Radar

I'm sure I posted about Mansell here at the time as an ex-Reading boss. Sorry, I'm not on the DDP, otherwise I would have noticed this months ago. EDIT - I didn't, but a cursory look at footballer sites would have soon confirmed his passing. Its certainly not under the radar as Rotherham and Reading both reported it at the time.

    Dementia afflicted footballers

Someone posted about Ernie Moss today, which led me to Dawn Astle's twitter page. On there, she links to any kind of dementia related news with footballers. Unfortunately most of them are deaths but in the latest, she has revealed ex Grimsby stalwart and Lib Dem councillor Dave Boylen and former Arsenal defender (and the man who ruthlessly hacked Paul Allen down in the 1980 Cup Final) Willie Young both have dementia. I've added them in along with Cropley. Also, worth mentioning that Astle also linked to a report which says Tony Parkes' dementia is so bad now, he's been moved to a care hme. He's gone downhill a lot more rapidly then thought.

I always thought Joan Sims was a very sexy woman at the very same time she was shunted into the housewife or dowdy roles.

    FIFA World Cup Players

These were definitely the only survivors of the Italy game c. 2006. Since then, of course, who knows? Anyone who played versus Italy that wasn't at the reunion is dead.

Although im happy for all the relevant stuff to go into Time Added, my reasoning for separate threads is that you wouldn't lump all the music threads together. All of them are devoted to slightly different strands.
  25. Octopus of Odstock

    Dementia afflicted footballers

To be fair, this is the third thread I've started about footballers. I can understand the argument about this being merged into the Time Added thread but updated as and when and I would not object in the slightest. I know @DevonDeathTrip has excellent merging skills, maybe he could do the necessary. I thought there was something on DL to check what threads one has started. Fook knows what the last non football one I started was. EDIT It was gardeners and um.. sexy politicians.
