There are ten former Chief of the Defence Staff currently still alive: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_of_the_Defence_Staff_(United_Kingdom) A few of them getting on in age now. Obits guaranteed via the Telegraph etc

Worth mentioning that the original choice for Mrs Emma Peel and swiftly dumped allowing Rigg to take over, Elizabeth Shepherd, is still alive. Was married to the late John Ringham. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Shepherd

More than that. About 2000 as dave, 200 as guest iain and f***loads as iain. Anyway the worst most terrible thing has already happened. They're selling Pringles in packets. Beats Princess Di's death in terms of shock and horror.

Whereas he's not on this list.. yet, but James Smith http://www.stamford-bridge.com/player.php?id=510&surname=Smith&firstname=James is Chelsea 2nd oldest player behind Tommy Docherty. Worth mentioning that Irish legend Billy Bingham is Everton official oldest and they seem quite clued up about these things. https://mobile.twitter.com/RickGlanvill/status/1281522830455255041

Michael, I've deleted the names above who are in the table on the first page. Don't forget Arthur Smith, born in 1915, ex Bury and Leicester who is the oldest player still alive. I notice you don't include David Lindsay (1922) and Ambrose Wilson (1924) on your list above - do you believe them to be deceased? Beresford, I thought was dead, but is very much alive and I'll add him back on - https://www.facebook.com/walsallswimclub/ Ron Brown died in 1968. Eddie McCreadie died last year. Cameron is likely dead as Everton confirmed Thomas Gardner as their oldest player at his death in 2016, who was born after Cameron. https://princerupertstower.com/2016/11/07/everton-legend-thomas-gardner-passes-away-93/ I removed Carroll as West Ham confirmed Frank O'Farrell as their oldest player recently, same with Finlay and Leeds United and Galloway and Chelsea. Portsmouth were very specific about naming Maurice Leather as their oldest player and not Foxton, likewise Ipswich named Len Fletcher as their oldest and not Johnny Gibbons. Same goes for Albert Giles and Bristol Rovers and John Tighe and West Brom and Eric Williams and Manchester City. I'm aware clubs can (and have) made mistakes but there's very little evidence about some of these guys that they are still alive. Jackie Fisher died in 2013 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Fisher_(footballer,_born_1925)

    Ozzy Osbourne

Based on that photo, definitely not. Looks well for his age and condition. If grey hair is a reason for going on the DL, then you might as well stick Matt le Blanc, Gary Lineker or Philip Schofield on there.

    Chadwick Boseman

Whilst I am very sorry for the millions of people who were fans of this chap and even more sorry for the man himself and his family, I, for one, have never heard of him, simply because I've never seen any of his films. I even saw his name come up on Wiki Recent Deaths, shrugged and then came here. It's only whilst here that I realise a bit more who he was and what he achieved. Seems like a real talent cut down in his prime.

I expect Steiner and Evans are alive. Certainly Steiner due to his surname. If he has remained in England, then there is no record of him dying. I am going through the list with 1927,1928 and 1929 to go so if I see any changes, I'll advise.

John Ollerenshaw is another who has only just died, also well into his 90's. No exact date but he was notable enough for Arsenal FC to mark his passing in their programme from their game vs Watford last month - https://www.arsenal.com/sites/default/files/documents/ArsenalvWatford_MatchProgramme_26July2020.pdf (Go to the In Memoriam page). Also only recently gone is Jimmy Kirk - https://www.tonbridgeangels.co.uk/news/jimmy-kirk-rip/1427 It's a shame that I can't be certain of some of these chaps being alive to give them their due credit, but one can only plug away I guess. At least I'm only a short while afterwards in terms of reporting their deaths.

Lavery is dead and a long time ago (1997). His wife only just passed away this year. You must've had a different John Lavery. Paddy Durkan was indeed the oldest Dundalk player at his death in 2013 - https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Sports-League/Irish-League-Nostalgia-893609260680806/ http://www.dundalkfcwhoswho.com/player.php?id=187&fbclid=IwAR3f_Zse3yQfp1PyOOwBgtvUXzFsyXrj2pbE_rERkYnwfJ57ObA-6LKb_zw

Well, going on the fact Dewiss Brown moved to Canada, and that he was born in 1919 - I'm pretty confident that this - http://cvgenealogygroup.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/CVRobits1986-2008.pdf (go down a bit) is our man. Died aged 80, in Canada, in 1999. There really can't be that many William Dewis(s) Brown's of that age around. Billy Molloy has also died this year.

No harm in asking at all. Re. Zlatkovic, he is like some of the Swiss players. No proof at all he's still alive but im happy to put him back on if he is actually living. I sincerely doubt it though. 2006 - Badilla, Costa Rica
