    The Chequered Flag

I think that's the crux of it. Zanardi's heart and body will keep going, naturally or artificially. But if he's brain dead, I feel that Daniela will let nature do is course and let him go. But they will only do that if that's the only option. Schumi is not brain dead and whilst he isn't who he was, he can function to some limited degree. Here's hoping for a better outcome but I doubt it will occur.

Not sure why you think that. Here's a bit more from the hospital that very much says death is a possibility. https://www.motorsport.com/general/news/alex-zanardi-hospital-prognosis-surgeon/4809765/

    The Chequered Flag

Alex is one of my very few genuine heroes. I fear the worst simply as his body went through such trauma all those years ago. This reminds me more of Andrea de Cesaris' fatal accident.

    FIFA World Cup Players

I've always been doubtful about some of the alleged surviving 1950's footballers but never been able to find anything concrete. Until now. Luis Mayanes, 'alive' at 95 - died in 1979, aged just 54. https://www.partidosdelaroja.com/1970/01/lindorfo-mayanes.html However, the two other Chileans listed as alive - Andres Prieto and Manuel Munoz are still with us according to the same site which is quite comprehensive and updated often. I am now pretty confident that the 6 listed alive: Carbajal (Mexico), Prieto and Munoz (Chile), Saguier (Paraguay) and Boniperti and Giovannini (Italy) are very much with us. There is some doubt whether there are Bolivian, Yugoslav or Swiss survivors, due to records not being as good, but the majority of them are definitely dead.

Willz, Miracle Aligner did the very same list as you did about a month ago. In fact, MA went a little bit further, doing anybody over the age of 70. I can only presume you've blocked MA's posts and hate to think you spent hours on something already just a few posts up.

I'm confused why we now have two identical lists of former MP's? Great research both of you but surely better just to have one list.

Good work msc. Sad news, but a lovely tribute. Shame yet another stalwart of British TV ignored by the media.

    Carry On Dying

Wiki has actor Ivor Danvers as dying on the 13th March 2020 (no source) More famous, arguably, for a five year stint in Howard's Way. But he also appeared in Carry on Sergeant, and there can't be many left from that film. However I cannot find any mention at all that he has died. Can any of our super sleuths do so?

    Olivia De Havilland

posting in here (as this is the appropriate place) There seems some debate about whether it is 2006 or 2011. But I'll say, regardless of whether it's 2006, 2011 or 2019, she is doing magnificently for her advanced age. If you look at more recent pictures of OdH, she does "look" a lot older than in this photo. If you look at this twitter picture, it has the entire picture - https://twitter.com/GilpinPeri/status/1145704850933477382, which you'd have to say is more likely to be the US than France. If so, her last visit to the US appears to be around 2011. Peri Gilpin has shared the photo, but I'd be surprised if that was taken by Peri on that day, it seems something's she shared and the twitterati have responded to. Also, a French paper claimed it was in 2019, but I cannot find that link which makes me think that they may've made a mistake and removed the article. Then 3 days later, Olivia's page on Facebook posted it. There's a number of comments in there about it being 2006. But I can't find the movie forums they refer to. In 2016, in this report from the Daily Fail - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3670080/AP-Interview-De-Havilland-breaks-silence-sibling-feud.html there is a quote about her eyesight failing which brings into question whether she would ride a bike with that vision.

Not sure this should go in the Livvie de H thread or above because it's been quoted in this thread. I'll post it in both. There seems some debate about whether it is 2006 or 2011. That photo is from her 90th birthday. You have to do a fair bit of searching but you get there in the end. So it's from 2006.

Quite a leap from Bob to Harry. It takes a slight mental readjustment for an old f***** like me to realise that every single male that was alive on New years Day in 1911 is dead. It seemed like only a few years ago we were talking about people born in the 1890's.
