Well those deaths had not been announced in this topic nor in Time Added, so that’s why I’m doing it today.

Clijsters is mentioned 16 times on the forum and his death was announced multiple times.

Added to that, if you check Mfede, his death was also reported earlier in this thread.

    But that's ridiculous.

Let's focus all our energies on the living players and the many mysteries we have.

  3. Okay, Sir Jackie -for his age - is doing very well. No problems with walking and needed no assistance.

But he is a little more frail, perhaps understandably, than recent appearances. I'd give him quite a few years yet.

It very much seems to be Huw Edwards going by the reporting.

Of course, he could be on holiday but I did find it telling he hasn't denied it. He doesn't have to, of course, but by not denying it only fans the speculation.

Not sure we need to post the list of every single country each time a player dies. Should just be the list of that player's respective country, otherwise this thread becomes painfully hard to scroll through and find stuff, especially on your phone.

    Agree totally on this

It's possible that Burhan Sargun could die off-radar when Fenerbahçe says they no longer have updates on him.

    https://fenerbahcetarihi.org/2023/01/canavar-burhan-roportaji/

Two things to take from that.

One, it's a fan club interview, not the official.club website, so it's the fan club that don't know how he is.

Two, Mehmet Dincer is dead (off radar, so your fears are justified) as Sargun is labelled as Fenerbache's oldest living player. Dincer, 5 years older, must have died.

  7. A in-depth Twitter search has found quite a few more names (which I've updated into the refreshed list on the first page). This include:

Steve Elliott (ex-Nottingham Forest, Preston, Luton)-  https://www.facebook.com/OfficialPNEFC/videos/getting-active-with-sporting-memories/581539912416136/

Alex Stuart (ex Dundee, Dundee United left-back and then Montrose, Ayr and St. Johnstone manager) - https://www.thedarkblues.co.uk/topic/27021-alex-stuart/

    Mutulu Shakur dead at 72.

I must admit I began to think he was another prison faker.

All I need is a QO to also wrap up it's tribute to Shakur by saying he was greatly saddened by Tongos death in March and took a downturn thereafter ..

Betta St. John (wiki) died on 23rd June, aged 93.

Death notice in The Times, probably because of her contributions to the West End in the UK.

      Reveal hidden contents

GRANT/ST JOHN Betta died peacefully on 23rd June 2023, aged 93. Starred on Broadway, the West End and in over a dozen Hollywood movies in the 1950s. Private funeral.

She was also married to actor Peter Grant which might be another reason why. Almost certainly the last survivor of Destry Rides Again

Great idea, let's all write letters to the major newspapers demanding a real obit for Mark Stokes. For the good of the DDP.

And Tongo. Should've been covered in every broadsheet already!

Former Labour MP Doug Naysmith has died aged 82 reports a statement from Bristol’s current Labour MP’s.

I'm sure I saw a post a while back from @Ulitzer95 saying last year was one of the quietest years for former MP deaths. This year feels like it's extremely high. Has anyone got those stats anywhere?

Malcolm Mowbray who co-wrote and directed A Private Function with Palin in a starring role, reportedly dead: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/malcolm-mowbray-director-private-function-192918896.html

    IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0610261/

Also directed Once Upon A Time In The North, Cadfael and Pie In The Sky.

Which Palin collaborator is next? Maggie Smith? Alan Bennett? One of the Pythons? It's all gone very Peter Bowles for him this year.

    John Nettleton

    Pat Heywood

    Jonathan Lynn

    Clem Vallance

    Graeme Garden

    Peter Cellier

    Kenneth Colley

    Gwen Taylor

    Maggie Smith

    Tim Curry

    David Griffin

Would be most likely, but it's noticeable how many of his era (or younger) are already dead so could easily be one of those in their early 60's (Simon Russell Beale doesn't look too healthy)

British humorist novelist Mavis Cheek reportedly dead:

Her debut novel, Pause Between Acts, was about her dismay at discovering Ian McKellen was gay.

Dog Days and The Sex Life Of My Aunt are worth a read.

    IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9161627/

Born on the 15th June 1948 according to this so might be a birthday death. https://www.writerswrite.co.za/the-writers-write-interview-mavis-cheek/
