Mamie Van Doren turns 94 next year. She's had numerous health issues over the years. Used to hang around with Jayne Mansfield and Marilyn Monroe back in the day

I've had him on my list for a good few years now. I'd like him to go so I can free up some space.

Got to see The Dickies last night in Minneapolis at The Cabooze. I hadn't seen them in 30 years. I was working the merch table for the first opening band. They had a lot of energy. Playing mostly the old stuff. Both Leonard and Stan very kindly autographed a couple of albums for me -

Night two of Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets Lighter crowd than the previous night. Slightly different set from the first night. Nick closed the evening with a cover of Elvis Costello's "Alison". -
Levi Dexter, who was recently hospitalized for a kidney infection, has now been diagnosed with neuralgia.

First of two nights working for Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets here at The Fine Line in Minneapolis. Nick is in fine form performing tunes from the new album Indoor Safari -
Harrington's Pie and Mash which has been owned by the same family for 116 years is to close. Located in Tooting, SW London. It was always a favourite of mine. I would stop in there on my way to my part time job after school.

A stressful night working for American Authors To begin with, their Square app wasn't working. It was close to half way during the show that we finally got it rectified. A fairly low turnout of about 100 people. But they put one a good show -

I have two gigs that I'll be working this week. Wednesday, I shall be working for T Bone Burnett. I didn't realize until just the other day that he produced the debut album for my friend David Poe. Then on Thursday, I'll be working for American Authors. I think I have successfully impressed my son as he used to listen to them when he was a lot younger. -

Last night I worked for the dB's as they're on tour marking the 40th anniversary of the release of their first album. Fantastic performance with two encores -
If he survives the year. Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota could be one to put on the list

As someone who lives in Minneapolis, that cuts deep. I work part-time next to the old 3rd Precinct where Derek Chauvin was stationed.

very minor Coming from you Ibex that means absolutely nothing. Bruno, That's why I put this reply. To say that Kholmov was a "very minor" player in the chess world, is very much an understatement Not a very well known player, but a strong player none-the-less. He didn't gain worldwide celebrity status as players such as Botvinnik, Tal, Petrosian, Spassky, Karpov or the very charismatic Kasparov. He reached his pinnacle during the late 50s and early 60s and was ranked as high as 6th in the world by 1960 Had he been more consistant with his games, he could have made it as World Chess Champion. Such a shame that's the 2nd chess player to have died within the space of a month Not far behind him though is Boris Spassky who will be 70 next January, however for the past 30 years, Spassky has been living comfortably in France

There are so many other options for food storage these days. Tupperware was great at the time. I remember my mum hosting Tupperware parties back in the 70s and 80s.

Still searching. Some people I trust their sources have posted. Could still be rumours

Went to see Semisonic last night at the Minnesota State Fair. This was my 2nd show this year as a spectator. They played a fair number of tunes from their latest album "A Little But Of Sun" and the rest from their previous 3 albums. It was well worth just spending the extra cash for the return trip to the fair. I was fortunate to get a copy of Jake Slichter's book autographed -

Worked 2 nights for Marky Ramone at the Minnesota State Fair. It was basically Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. But, it was billed as Marky Ramone plays the Ramones Classics. 35 songs at a breakneck speed. First night, we were packed out. Second night, storms kept quite a few people away. One of the few gigs I've worked where I get to hear most of the show. That wretched tree obscured my view of the stage. -

Worked for The Scarlet Goodbye the other day at the Minnesota State Fair. Boiling hot day, small crowd that braved the heat. 3 fantastic sets featuring a mix of the debut album and stuff from their forthcoming album which will be released in January. -
It's about time Huntley got the crap kicked out of him. I know one of the police officers who worked on the Soham case. He quit the force shortly afterwards as he was a complete wreck and didn't want to end up investigating another murder where children were involved

Was working for Tina Schlieske at The Minnesota State Fair last night. She played a plethora of tunes spanning her days with Tina & The B-Sides and her solo material I'll be back working for her tonight. I think I've mentioned this before, her life partner is Justine Roddick one of the daughters of Anita Roddick founder of The Body Shop.
