Been To Any Good Gigs Lately?
Phantom replied to Brinsworth House Baiter's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Worked a gig for a band called Low Rats, special guest for their show was Dan Murphy (founding member and former guitarist for Soul Asylum). Just thought I would add that Dan Murphy is really nice to chat with -

Wreckless Eric was in fine form last night. Did an hour and a half long set. And hung out backstage for a couple of hours after the gig had finished. Not bad for a 67 year old who had Covid last year and then suffered a heart attack. -
Scotty Broyles is 93 and still going strong

This Wednesday I will be working for Wreckless Eric and next Thursday I shall be working for Josie Cotton. Both are playing The Hook and Ladder in Minneapolis. -

Bassist, Bob Moore, has died at the age of 88. Bob played with a variety of variety of top nanes such as Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Patti Page to name just a few. Probably most notable for most people is his base intro for Roger Miller's "King of the Road"

I have several that I could mention, but one from my schooldays I played 5-a-side football for my primary school against the cast of Citizen Smith and used to deliver Robert "Wolfie Smith" Lindsay's newspaper

Also from the most recent time I worked with Deke at the end of July, he autographed a copy of his book "Strat in the Attic 2" for me

I trust Deke implicitly. If he has heard Don had passed away, then it's true. Deke wrote extensive liner notes for the Bear Family boxset. Uncanny coincidence, just a short while before I saw this post, I had been listening to Deke's cover of "Ugly & Slouchy" in my car.

He has indeed passed away. Here he is with Allen Charmin' Larman.

John Eckley, former guitarist for The Novas, was treated for hornet stings the other day. He's back home recovering.
-
He had some surgery here in Minnesota a few years ago, I think that was the last time he was in the news.

Chan Poling, lead vocalist and keyboard player for The Suburbs is apparently undergoing treatment at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. My guess that it's a front and that he is secretly receiving treatment at Hazelden (Betty Ford Clinic).

The guy next to Bob there (whose name escapes me) used to live around the corner from me.
