Phantom, your right. It seems to be just another hoax. Personally i'm so desperate for a death, I guess this I just wanted to believe. Unfortunately the Deathlist success rate remains ice cold. It's been quiet all round to be honest. There have been plenty of deaths of the WDP and DDP that I've looked at and thought "how the bloody hell did I not realise they were still alive." Before I signed up on DL I'd been using a stock number of celebs each year and every so often getting an inspired hit. Actually if Jane Wyman was to die this year, it would be the first hit my wife has had on our sweepstake dead pool since Fay Wray died over 2 years ago. I'm still trying to find out if Robert Earl Jones has died. If he has, I've already put in a substitute on the CPDP. Also unless it's a really big celeb that dies, which in the case of Jane Wyman it would be on CNN straight away. Sometimes it takes nearly a day from when it appears on the crawler until it appears on the website like in the case of Milan Williams the keyboard player from The Commodores. I have a feeling there will be someone going soon, but it will be one we least suspect. Much like in the case of Gene Pitney.

After all the hassles we had with Iain posting links from Wikipedia, I'd have thought you yourself wouldn't rely on that site as a source for news of someone's death. The wikipedia entry now states that she's alive, so whomever edited it originally was probably just using wishful thinking. Don't forget someone posted on Wikipedia the other week claiming that Margaret Thatcher had commited suicide.

alt.stiffs.com have a discussion forum on the possible demise of Robert Earl Jones. No one has been able to confirm whether or not he is still alive. Edited to say: sorry to be a pain but as it's not confirmed regarding Robert Earl Jones, could we have the posts about this matter moved to a thread of its own? [Done -ff]

Kent, We appreciate your input on this. I guess I'm reluctant to cross him off as dead until I see an obituary of some sorts. I believe the information you receive is often from a reliable source. Wikipedia are doing the same, but those are the only two places that it's being reported at the moment so I'm still a bit dubious until it's been confirmed in an actual news publication There's quite some discrepancy regards his age, imdb has him born in 1911 and DoA in 1904. I'm sure his real date of birth will be announced when his death is published in the newspapers. It's a bit like Al Lewis all over again. imdb still have him listed as being alive though, so it's a total mystery at the moment

Actually, if you look at child porn for the purposes of pleasure, then yes it does make you a paedophile. As far as I'm aware "pedophile" is now the mis-spelt way that is often used, although I believe it actually implies someone who has a foot fetish. I voted "No" purely on the basis that as a regular user, we're unable to merge posts where they rightly belong or delete our own posts if one has been submitted then it's realised that there's already a discussion on that matter. All forums need moderators to a certain degree, but it's down to the owner of the forum to reprimand a moderator if they believe their powers are being misused. If the dispute between a user and a moderator is personal, then the moderator should resolve the dispute as they would as if they were simply another user, However if the user is deemed to be displaying unrational behaviour then the moderator should step in. I will add that I'm not taking sides on this matter, but voted "No" based on my views in the first paragraph.
