Daniel Smith, son of Anna Nicole Smith has died suddenly at the age of 20

Wouldn't it be ironic if he died tomorrow on the anniversary of 9/11? Only if Bush or bin Laden were to die on 9/11 then it would be ironic I fail to see any connection between Gerald Ford and the events of Sept 11th 2001

same here, oh well back to the drawing board

Aye this is a point worth pursuing, I think you're right with Gough Whitlam but I'd be interested in knowing from anyone on the forum with access to the right information how many famous Australians are still Austrailians. So far as I can make out the following aren't. I haven't seen any of the passports but I'm going on several things, like usual residence, countries in which they own and operate businesses etc. Kylie Minogue - British Rolf Harris - British Rupert Murdoch - American (for definite, he did it for the sake of running his empire from there) Barry Humphries - British Paul Hogan - American Mel Gibson - American Russell Crowe - ???? (American, I think) Michael Hutchence - DEAD!!!!! You could also throw Jason Donovan into that list too

It's not often you hear of Milton Friedman these days, but one I only just noticed was that he was interviewed by Russ Roberts last month There's no transcript of the interview on the Hoover Institution website just a passing mention and you have to call in or email them to obtain a copy of the interview

The DDP though is limited to 20 selections, so FF's 8 out of 20 would equate to a DL hit rate of 20 out of 50, making 7 out of 50 look pretty poor. Apply the DL rules to your DDP. How many hits would you have? Maxine_Edgington wouldn't have made it onto the DL. I hadn't heard of her until she had died. It seemed that she had just recorded a song with Billy Bragg because she was dying, not that she was already an accomlished singer

I think one of the problems lie with names are chosen that have appeared more recently in the news and often better choices are forgotten about. The list that Octi compiled will help in that it will be easier to peruse through those that have been discussed to whittle it down to a better lists. Although some years you just get lucky. Last year I put Barbara Bel Geddes on my list, had no idea on her health status and lo-and-behold she died in August and the year before that Artie Shaw appeared on my list. There have been some big names that have died this year that I doubt anyone expected. Especially with people like Gene Pitney.

In that case he'll probably drop dead by the end of the year Grim Reaper should give Iain a call this December and ask him who should be included on this years list. There for they would all be left off. Iain should have put forward his own list, he was constantly criticising everyone for such poor picks. I honestly don't think Mickey Rooney is a viable choice until 2008 unless there's any change in his health. He's old, but he's in good spirits and health.

Astor's son fires back at accusers

and I certainly didn't see that one coming. A great shame. Barry Humphries would be more likely to go before Rolf Harris. Even though Barry Humphries is 4 years younger than Rolf Harris, he's had a few health problems, notably related to alcoholism.

I just hope that the drugs that Huntley took caused some damage to either his liver or kidneys or possibly both and that he'll have several years of pain and suffering from the effects of that.

He'll be a good choice, although because of his age he won't bring in many points. I'm going to put him on my own sweepstake DP which I'm pleased to say we now have 20 people participating which means the prize money goes up a bit more

My father-in-law has had DeBakey listed on his dead pool picks for the past 5 years. For some reason he left him off his list this year. I wonder if he remembers to put him back on for next year.

Well this news beats no news at all, but I'm very disappointed about Mr Pinter's effort. Almost as much as Mr Throat's. regards, Hein Seems like they're trying to squeeze those events in "just in case"

There is a Gallo Wines website which provides very basic information about Ernest Gallo himself. I did however find this mini biography and it seems he has a Clinic and Research Center and if you're feeling a need to splash out for the grand amount of $4.50 you can purchase an autographed photo

That's uncanny, I was just describing that to my wife after we'd heard of Irwin's death. I remember sitting at home one day just flicking through the channels and saw Irwin intimidation a cobra to get it to spray it's milk. There was also one where he put on what appeared to be lab safety specs just to capture the cobra in action.

John Barrons dead? indeed he is dead, he passed away on July 3rd 2004 I really thought he was still alive. Phew, just as well I never included him in my dead pool, how embarrassing that would have been, mind you, I have a disclaimer in my rules That's ok, I almost put Gretchen Franklin in my dead pool for this year not knowing she had died last July. I put her on my dead pool for 2004 then foolishly left her off last year
