It was Bettie Wilson, said to be 115 years. Latimes.com Is this the most pretentious newspaper ever ? Definately the lick the brown starfish award . hmmmm...oldest woman hence the oldest woman, I think I meant oldest women hence oldest person... Lizzie Bolden is actually the oldest woman / person in America. She was at one point listed as the oldest in the world until they discovered Maria Esther de Capovilla and she had her birth certificate to prove it

My father-in-law and brother-in-law must be kicking themselves as they have Maria Esther de Capovilla and Lizzie Bolden on their DP lists I've already argued that they shouldn't be allowed as longevity doesn't really earn you celebrity status.

Looks like the wrestlers are starting to go. I still couldn't find a year of birth for Mick McManus, however on a profile site They had this snippet "As of August 2004, Mick McManus is still alive and kicking in his eighties"
-
Don't suppose you could post a link, please? Cheers Phantom, much appreciated. I wonder if this will be the start of the famous wrestlers of the 60's popping off. Mick Mcmanus must be kickin' 80 by now, eh? Just found a Telegraph link I couldn't find much information on Mick McManus, just that his birthday is January 11th but no year listed. I'll google a bit more to see if I can find more stuff on him

I've kept him on my list again for this year too, I've already missed a few people over the past 4 years by dropping them from my list and then they go and die Even though it's standard procedure to release a prisoner if they have 3 months or less to live, I think Ronnie will go suddenly I still see no reason to keep him imprisoned as he's hardly likely to plan another heist in his current condition also if he was released he'll probably die very soon after as he'd have got his wish to die at home. Probably the main reason why he's lingering on as he doesn't want his last days to be behind bars

Guests, A Deathlist Enhancement, Or Detriment?
Phantom replied to Tempus Fugit's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I voted for "No" as it doesn't take much to register on the site. Although I have to admit in an attempt to be the first to post information on the site, I've forgotten to log in and been able to do so under a guest login Although those that rant about the goings on are more reluctant to register and thus depriving us of a bit of entertainment -
We don't actually encourage the posting of Wikipedia obits, since there's a fake one at least once a week I just like the obscure ones they put out

I wonder who the 3rd oldest is now

Annette Funicello would most likely make the news over here, they actually did a documentary a short while ago about all the Mouseketeers and where they are now. They mentioned about her condition, but it's obviously worsened since then. She's on my list of 100 people so far, but hasn't yet made it up into my top 50

Just saw on the crawler on the BBC site, Sharon is out of surgery and in intensive care

That sounds like a good pick, I almost forgot he was still alive He was more of a reporter than a newsreader. you'd always see him sent out in the pouring rain and the reports he would do would always have this bitter undertone to them Is Alistair Burnett still alive?

Your Least Impressive Celebrity Encounters

Let me guess, that was at a book signing. regards, Hein Well yes it was, but it's not quite as simple as that, because my GF of the time worked in the shop so I did actually get to meet him. And I was the first to get my book signed. I've met Terry Pratchett too, it wasn't at a book signing but at a stage production of "Wyrd Sisters".
