There's one name that I've just done a search on in DL and she hasn't been mentioned at all, she should be a good pick for next year.... Miep Gies! The lady who helped hide Anne Frank and her family during WWII Miep Gies will be 98 this february

Fourhorsemen, I remember "Three Up, Two Down", I used to love watching that show. There was that show and also "No Place Like Home" which was on regularly in our house

How about Sir Donald Sinden. Davies' co-star in "Never The Twain" I forget how old Sinden is, but I think he's a good 10 years older and probably a better bet since he's finally got the knighthood he's always wanted Actually I saw Windsor Davies a couple of years ago on the Northern Line, both of us were getting off at Stockwell. I let him go first and said "After you, Mr Davies" as he walked passed he said "lovely boy" that cheered me up as I'd been a fan of "It ain't Half Hot Mum" when I was a kid

Pretty sure Windsor Davis is doing fine at the moment, travels regurly on the Northern Line. I think he lives somewhere close to either Balham or Clapham. The again we lost Don Estelle a couple of years ago... lovely boy!

ok another suggestion for 2007... Charlie Harper lead vocalist for the UK Subs, he's already had a couple of heart-attacks so maybe next year he might be heading for that great gig in the sky
-
He doesn't have any eyebrows either, he shaved them off at the same time he went for the Kojak look

I thought stopping breathing was the most common reason

maybe the doctors need the hospital bed for someone else. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea for him to be treated on the NHS
-
weird, I did a quick google on him earlier and one site listed him as being 90 this year, but I'll well believe his isn't that old. I stand well corrected
-
It's possible though. Bill Owen was very much a regular on Last of the Summer Wine right up until his passing. Bearing in mind, Stephen Lewis is nearing 90
-
someone mentioned Reg Varney on one of the other threads. On the same note, how about Stephen "I'll get you Butler" Lewis?
-
I didn't realise there was much going on in Norman's personal life. I thought he was just enjoying his retirement

39?? sheesh

Hmm shouldn't that be wristfully Tessa was a fleeting fantasy as well as Hayley Mills and then Lysette Anthony

I wish they'd do "Drop the Celebrity" over here. I thought it was a great idea to get Z-list celebs to justify their celebrity status and if the 100 members of the public on the ground weren't convinced, then the nominated celeb would have to parachute out of the aircraft I heard one episode ended in tragedy, when Bobby Davro parachuted the 10,000ft to the ground and landed safely

How many series of CFC are they upto in the UK now? They've done 3 series in quick succession over here in the US. I don't know about 90% of the "Celebrities" they put on them

Eamon Holmes had the habit of referring to the show as Celebrity Fat Club

ermmm David Kelly who played O'Reilly (Fawlty Towers) and Albert Riddle (Robin's Nest)
-
He was the star guest at the State Fair. Hardly a major celebrity, I know
-
ok I've thought of another possibility for next year.. Jerry Maren One of the Lollipop Guild from Wizard of Oz I saw him just over a year ago at the Minnesota State Fair and he looked a bit unsteady
-
dragged up in SW London, moved to Picadilly, slummed it in Mile End, then to Barking, back to Wandsworth and now in Minne*snow*ta
-
Cerberus, Thanks for that. I think I might have been away from the UK for too long. I might push him further down my list for next year. How about Denis Healy? he's fast approaching 90 Octopus Anna Wing had better make it to the end of this year, otherwise I'd kick myself. I dropped Thora Hird from my list a couple of years ago, and just to spite me, she took the great stairlift to the sky

not a problem btw how was your birthday?
