Thought we should have a seasonal thread. David Huddlestone, the bloke who played Santa Claus in Santa Claus: the Movie, is 84 now and has well and truly outlived his co-star, Dudley Moore. Probably one to do a seasonal check on! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Huddleston

How Joe was kicked out of Australia: "Joe Cocker and his drugged-up group would be airlifted straight back across the Pacific. I'd make sure their passports are marked 'Never to return'. We don't want this type here. Cocker is yet another one of those uncouth, dirty-haired, sloppily-dressed show business freaks. Another assembly-line instant pop star who because of overnight fame and pure disregard for what normal people regard as decent behaviour has decided that Australia is the sort of outpost where he can indulge in his filthy habits. Get out, Cocker, and don't come back." http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/mad-dog-musician-joe-cocker-matured-well-20141223-12cr6q.html

Author Jenny Diski is terminally ill with inoperable lung cancer but - according to a lengthy piece in The Observer - today was told in August she has "two to three years." An outside bet for 2015 (her chemo'd immune system could fail her), but definitely in there from 2016 onwards if she makes that start line.

Suprised she's lasted this long given her lifestyle... Cynthia Payne rose to prominence in the 70s and 80s as a sex party hostess and a sex laws liberalisation campaigner. I also almost bought her book when looking for Sylvia Plath poetry.. She is 81.
