    Manuel Noriega

I was scanning through this article about the former Panamanian dictator's blood pressure problems when I read that he has an apartment suite in prison. Tough life ain't it! http://www.miami.com...10352165.htm?1c DWB

    Dennis Ritchie

I have just learned that Dennis Ritchie has passed away: http://www.electronista.com/articles/11/10...t.with.illness/ http://en.wikipedia..../Dennis_Ritchie Really sad about this one. He did far, far more for the computer industry than Steve Jobs, IMHO but his passing almost certainly won't get anywhere near the media attention. I wouldn't have the job I hold today if it weren't for his pioneering work co-developing Unix with Ken Thompson. RIP to one of the real fathers of the computer revolution. Not an exaggeration to say that I personally consider this the most significant death of the year thus far due to his impact on computing.

    Tom Weir

Late night TV on ITV Grampian pointed me towards Tom Weir. (b.1914) They still show repeats of his programme 'Weir's Way' up here. It is all the excitement you need. His sister Mollie died in late 2004. He is fairly famous in Scotland I suppose but I'm guessing no one else has heard of him. There is so little material on him that he may even be dead.

Just checked Chuck's official website, and it appears he's still performing one-nighters at the age of nearly 79. I reckon he'll go the day after he has to give up doing his show.

    Luise Rainer

i think Luise Rainier has to be on your list for next year http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luise_Rainer Luise Rainer (born January 12, 1910 in Düsseldorf, Germany) is a film actress. She became an American citizen in the 1940s, but has lived in the United Kingdom for many years now. Rainer acted in Max Reinhardt's Vienna theater and appeared in several German language films before being discovered by an MGM talent scout in 1935. She moved to Hollywood and made her first American film appearance opposite William Powell in Escapade (1935). Her next two films won her consecutive Academy Awards for Best Actress, first for her portrayal of actress Anna Held in The Great Ziegfeld (1936) and next as a Chinese peasant in The Good Earth (1937).

    Clive Dunn

Clive Dunn must deserve some sort of honour. He appeared as no1 in the 1987 list, and is still in there at 50 in this years list. Perhaps he is only hanging on for spite, in the hope that he drops off next year - and then can drop off for good.

King of Tonga This old king was born in 1918. At 87 therefore, a sodomite and considerably overweight, must soon be a goner. Any thoughts?

    Al Lewis

Like DWB I was also doing a bit of casual DeathList research and think Ive stumbled across an exciting new possibility. It appears that Al Lewis who played Grampa Munster in the 1960s TV series is still alive and coming up to his 94th brithday. I cannot find any news of his recent health or his death but I have found a site where you can book him for a personal appearance - Perhaps he should be the guest of honour at the DeathList Xmas party.
