Ruby Muhammad (born March 29, 1897) is the widow of Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammad. She was originally born in Americus, Georgia. She joined the Nation in 1946 and was named Mother of the Nation of Islam in 1986 by Minister Louis Farrakhan, and has an international following of admiration by those in the Nation of Islam. At 107, she is quite close to achieving supercentenarian status.

Someone I can't find previously mentioned on the DL is the 93-year-old 'godfather of recreational mathematics' (i.e. he likes puzzles), Martin Gardner. I'd never heard of him till reading this article, and his wiki page suggests he's eminent enough for a suitable obituary - check the Escher and Tetris references. The article says he's too frail to attend the G4G conferences held in his name these days (though it also says he's still 'mentally and physically fit'), so he's a possible deadpool pick for someone willing to take a gamble.

Yes they are playing down the seriousness of these health challenges but I think it is a timely reminder that its about time he had his own thread .

Emmerdale`s Sheila Mercier turns 96 on the 1st January and has had arthritis for many years.Surely old enough and famous enough for a place on next years list?Her brother Brian also turn 91 next month and had a stroke recently so he could be one to consider also?

So as many of you know, Eddie Money has been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Well, with all the coverage he had received, I have decided that he’s probably drop 40 worthy and maybe Deathlist worthy too. However, he’d have to see 2020 first, which might a tough task imo.

This one seems to have slipped through the net from Wednesday Wombles animator Ivor Wood dies Acclaimed British animator Ivor Wood has died at the age of 72. Wood, a stop-motion expert, was instrumental in developing some of the most popular children's shows on TV, including Postman Pat and The Wombles. Born to a French mother, he learnt his craft working on The Magic Roundabout with series creator Serge Danot. He is probably best remembered for his work on the animated series Paddington with author Michael Bond. He is survived by his wife, Josiane, and son.
