The ever-tasteful VH1 is airing a show called Celebrity Rehab. One of the 'contestants' is washed-up actor Jeff Conaway (Grease, Taxi), who has apparently attempted suicide 21 times (eight paragraphs into the article). While his cork-popping abilities are clearly on a par with his acting skills, he seems like a right drug monkey and could be a possible candidate for an earlyish demise.

Will be turning 62 this year. That's not old by DeathList standards, but she's been suffering from diabetes for many years and is registered blind. Might be worth considering as a possibility at some stage, especially if there's news of further health problems. Would doubtless get a UK obituary.

Depending on whom you believe, beloved actor Paul Newman is in a fight for his life with an undisclosed cancer. The National Enquirer, The Daily News, The Huffington Post and Showbiz Spy are all reporting that the 83-year-old legend recently underwent secret surgery for an unnamed cancer, and that the operation was successful.

Actor Heath Ledger found dead in his Manhattan apartment, reported by the BBC. Cause of death unknown as yet though News 24 are reporting it as, surprise surprise, drug related.

Ronald Coase who won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1991, will turn 97 in a few days. I've recognized that Deathlist is out of Economists and if Coase makes the 2008 list - for some reason I think we will be in the same situation again soon.
