  1. The Old Crem

    Bobby Charlton

With news of his Dementia diagnosis being made public and his likely future appearances on the List I have opened a thread for him.
  2. Spade_Cooley

    Tom Parker

A thread for everyone's DDP joker in 2021, 31-year-old boybander Tom Parker and his inoperable brain tumour.
  3. The Great Cornholio

    Des O'Connor

Very surprised to find there isn't a thread for presenter, singer and comedian Des O'Connor (who turns 89 in a few months). Des is getting pretty old now, plus considering he has a 16 year old son to look after at his age I reckon that surely has to wear him down. A good candidate for 2021 DL?
  4. Joey Russ

    Chadwick Boseman

Well, unfortunately he just died: I’m really stunned about this one

    Shinzo Abe

Longest-serving Japanese PM in history, already stepped down from the role once in 2007 due to chronic ulcerative colitis, has recently visited hospital twice in the space of a few days - sparking concern about his health across Glorious Nippon. He's refused to reveal what the purpose of the visits was, and chronic ulcerative colitis is a risk factor for colon cancer.
  6. The Old Crem

    Sarah Harding

Girls Aloud star reveals she has secondary Breast Cancer at age of 36. Horrible Horrible news. Considering it has spread I feel she warrants her own thread.
  7. The Great Cornholio

    Len Goodman

Len Goodman just came out of surgery for skin cancer. Looks like he wont be needing any further treatment though but I think its probably worth keeping an eye on him for the sake of recurrence https://www.msn.com/en-gb/entertainment/celebrity/strictly-come-dancing-legend-len-goodman-has-surgery-for-skin-cancer-scare/ar-BB18gvgl

    Alexey Navalny

Following the shocking news that Alexey Navalny got poisoned and is on ventilator, I've decided to create a thread dedicated to this brave man and my fellow Russian. In late 2017-early 2018 I've been a Putinist and I've been spreading lies about Navalny being a corrupt racist. However I've been a bit liberal in 2014, than became a tankie just jn order to appease my commie friend in 2015, but than I've become a full-on Putinist in mid 2017, because of... James Woods and Ben Garrison. But a few things have changed my views, and they include retirement age reform and Putin's cr***py handling of COVID-19 situation. I hope this thoroughly good guy whom I've been trying to smear in the past (But I've never worked for Prigozhin/Olgino Troll Farm, I swear to god. I've only turned 20 this July.) recovers, takes over as our President and make our country finally free, democratic and economically prosperous, despite me disagreeing with him on foreign policy andd immigration views (He wants to end visa-free travel agreeements between Russia and post-Soviet Central Asian and Transcaucasian (Armenia, Azerbaijan) countries and he's not opposed to neocons). From what I've heard someone slipped some barbiturates into his tea , while he was in an airport cafe. He started feeling ill while on plane, started screaming and then collapsed. Thank god, the pilots have landed in Omsk, where he was hospitalised and put on a ventilator. He's in ICU and in a coma right now. Thankfully, the Germans have sent in the plane to fly him to a Berlin clinic and rescue him, but the head doctor of the hospital won't allow Lyokha out. https://twitter.com/Kira_Yarmysh?s=09. Please follow his press secretary (this is her account) for updates. She's staying in his room. God help us. Cheers.
  9. Man About The Forum

    James Lovelock

Probably deserves a thread...but is this one of the "youngest" 101-year-olds on the planet? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/science-environment-53644147/james-lovelock-gaia-theory-creator-on-coronavirus-and-turning-101
  10. The Old Crem

    15. Glynis Johns

For someone who is 96, in a nursing home (The location of which seems to be uncertain) and a regular on the Crowd - Sourced list, I was shocked to find she does not have her own thread. But now she does.
  11. Dying Probably

    Jiang Zemin

Surprised to learn there wasn't a forum for Jiang Zemin, president of China from 1993 to 2003. He is already 93 years old and seems to be so frail that people were holding his arms to ensure he didn't fall at the funeral of Li Peng. Those images are a year old on Wednesday. He's got to be soon to kick the bucket!
  12. Joey Russ

    Mike Gravel

The legendary Mike Gravel is 90 today, and I feel he’s very worthy of his own thread. It was him who put the pentagon papers in the Congressional Record, and he also ran for president twice, trying to push people more to the left of him. Now he has set up the Gravel institute to continue his legacy. Here’s hoping he lasts for a long time...

    Geoffrey Palmer

Watching the Stanley Baxter thing on channel 5 . Done a quick google check. Still alive and 92 years of age. QO a definite.

    Larry Flynt

So I am watching "Circus of Books" on Netflix and couldn't help but notice how old Larry Flynt has become. 77 years old now, used to be a frequent drug abuser, paralysed after an assassination attempt, several strokes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Flynt Hugh Hefner 2.0, maybe the committee will eventually agree.

    Captain Tom Moore

The captain is walking round his garden in aid of the NHS. Originally to raise a thousand £££'s now stands at over £8m. Only famous in in his own backyard, but will no doubt get a QO when he snuffs it. Will he make it to the ton?
  16. Wickerman

    William Frankland

Born 19 March 1912 (108 years of age on this day I create the topic in his name). A collaborator with Alexander Fleming in the development of penicillin. Frankland taught that increased levels of cleanliness and hygiene in modern life account significantly for the rise in allergies, the so-called Hygiene Hypothesis. He has said that "We don't set off our immune system early on, we are too clean. In the former East Germany for instance, with very poor work and housing conditions, people were less allergic". I recall my own GP in Birmingham (Mary Stone) who met Frankland - telling my mother (when I was very young) to: “Let him play in the dirt it will help build his immune system”. Frankland was instrumental in the creation of the British Association of Allergists in 1948. In 1962 the Association became the British Allergy Society, and Frankland served as president between 1963 and 1966. The society became the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) in 1973. Frankland is a founder member and president of the International Association of Aerobiology, and president of the UK charity the Anaphylaxis Campaign. Frankland continues to publish; at age 100 he authored "100 years of allergen immunotherapy", and most recently co-authoring, "Flight Lieutenant Peach's observations on Burning Feet Syndrome in Far Eastern Prisoners of War 1942–45" in the 'Quarterly Journal of Medicine' in 2016. A person well worthy of his own topic here on DeathList. Long may he continue to live.

    Judith Durham

Listening to some song mix on Spotify the seekers came up. Just wondering what ever happened to Judith Durham aged 77 on 3rd July. Had a stroke in 2013 but haven't heard anything from her in a long while. Still alive and apparently still singing, but her stroke left her with writing and reading disabilities. Definite obit material. Thoughts?

    Roberta McCain

Ok. As Kenny McCormick is whinging about Roberta not having a thread, I present to you all............... The Roberta McCain thread. Fill yer boots.

    Kenneth Kaunda

Being a little prescient and considering the love of DL for old African bad guys (Hastings Banda, Bobby Mugs, Daniel arap Moi) I think Kenny's inclusion on next year's list is quite likely if he makes it. President of Zambia since its independence for 27 years, and the last recognizable "founding father/tyrant" of an African Country (Sam Nujoma apart), he has been suffering from ill health at least since 2016, when he was mistakenly reported as dead. Anyway here we are four years later; all the African dictators born in 1924 have been wiped out except for Kenny. Last week he got nominated for Nobel Prize for Peace and today he expresses his condolences for his "dear friend" Moi. Health updates quite regular and birthdays always celebrated, so thread won't be empty till death, I think.
