The Mirror reports she is seriously ill in hospital suffering from incurable and advanced brain cancer. When she does venture out she is wheelchair bound and accompanied by a helper. Is she famous enough for the DL? DWB

With time working its fatal charms on the "Carry On" crew, I have to wonder why Bernard Cribbins hasn't gleaned a mention here yet. "Speaker for the Wombles" and talented vocalist behind such musical classics as "Right Said Fred" and "Gossip Calypso" and another one about exercise being good for you, which name escapes me... he's clocking in at a respectable 78 years old and, given the unexpected fatality that Carry On stardom carries, he may be a safe bet for the near future.

Her breast cancer has returned and it has spread: http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/olivia-newton-john-breast-cancer-10530974 (Yes, getting there before Gooseberry Crumble does it.)

Further to a post on another thread. Lance Macklin, Old Etonian, gentleman racing driver and - indirectly - involved in 83 deaths when his car was caught up in the worst motor racing accident of all time is - apparantly - still alive. B 1919, I can't find a year of death on any of the statto-heaven F1 sites I've just surfed.

Looked in great shape on Pointless today, can't believe he's 89. Better than his partner Rick Wakeman, anyway.

King Constantine II of Greece, king of Greece from 1964–1973. He turns 83 years old next year and has been seen using a wheelchair for a while now. He was in hospital in 2018 after having a stroke. And was in hospital with covid-19 in January this year. He did not attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II this year. I don't think he has much time left.

If Savile and Rolf have their own threads, Pell deserves one, too. George Pell is 77 years old, has heart trouble (though that may have been a sham to avoid flying home to face trial) and is due to have knee reconstruction work. Yet to be sentenced though judging by the judge's comments, he's had it: 10 years is the standard sentence for this kind of crime, putting him at 87 when he is released.

Hiyall Phil Spectre Darlings just love the wacko jacko banter - while we're on the topic of flakey celebs under threat of incarceration what about the mentally balanced Phil Spectre. No way will he get off. Dixie comes to us all wearing Pixie Boots

An encouraging documentary on Evel Knievel earlier on Channel 5. Evel is apparently on 48 pills a day, had a liver transplant, has a wife 33 years his junior and, even though in his mid-sixties, is talking of that one last jump 2005 would be the perfect year for the big jump IMO - go for it Evel

Former South African President, F.W. De Klerk is in hospital. The 70 year old has a history of being a heavy smoker and drinker and is suffering from colon cancer. His condition had worsened on Wednesday, after having surgery, but he is now in a stable condition. He is definitely one to keep an eye on. I have just been reading about Andy Williams and thought I'd see if we had any info on him. He doesn't seem to have a thread yet but I noticed Windsor had him as one of his picks in his footer so I suppose his health issues are already well-known. According to his Wiki page, which cites Fox News, "On Friday, November 4, 2011, it was reported in the press that Williams has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. He is undergoing chemotherapy treatments in Houston and will then move with his wife to a rented home in Malibu, California to be closer to cancer specialists in the Los Angeles area." Any news since then? What is the survival rate for bladder cancer?

Any news on Jimmy Saville's well-being? A possible contender for the 2005 list perchance? He'd be getting a bit snaggle-toothed by now.

Just watched the Fantastic 4 on DVD - not a bad film as superhero live action goes. Stan Lee does his usual cameo as a postman this time. Hell, this guy is 84 and looks in better shape than people 20 years younger, so no reason to stick him on the list, but it does give an excuse to run a thread on comics and comic heros. I had a sizeable collection of American Spiderman, Batman, Superman et al stuff, but when I hit my teens only 2000AD did it for me. Any thoughts? DWB
