Listening to Radio Scotland this morning, Fred Macaulay was interviewing Babs. Apparently she has brought out a fitness video, and is now fighting fit - although I doubt she has much need of the 'Upper Body Workout' :o

I'm not sure how those two got to be perfect partners for each other, even on DVD. It's like the south and north pole.

I was about to nominate Kenneth Connor, until I learned that he died in 1993. But Jack Douglas (born 26-4-27) and Bill Maynard (8-10-28) are still going. They appeared in quite a few Carry Ons, not usually in leading roles it has to be said.

Not so sure Bill Maynard's exactly "going strong" (see below) - I gave him a plug for the 2005 list last October.

IMDB bio

You will notice that his current wife is the widow of (pre-Death List casualty) Donald Campbell (file under "what a way to go!").

How about June Whitfield....

Terry's be waiting all these years and she's been flogging the old bury me insurance plans for ages....

June's Bio

Mind you Frank Windsor has been selling them even longer (pay us a fortune and we'll give you a carriage clock) and he's refusing to die - damn that Miracle-Gro

I think Patsy Rowlands Carry On CV is my favorite, with the "Abroad/Girls/Dick/Behind" credit.

the carry-ons are classics

carry on columbus was sh*t and dont even compare, as for london its a "B" list help up the ladder

after sid died it was finished

Sid, Kenneth W, Kenneth C, Charlie H, Babs & joan sims were the best

I did'nt understand Jack Douglas he was a bit of a Norman Collier

My fave has to be convenience with that budgie brilliant

A few years ago they did a film of the carry ons focussing on sid & babs and the affair. It was quite good

as for the deathlist god knows

I prefer it when people post in German. Then I have a chance of understanding it.

Is there nothing in the Unwritten rules about a minimum standard of punctuation?

Sorry for grumbling, have a nice evening.

Never mind standard, I think that was an attempt to post with the minimum amount of punctuation.

well h-e-l-l-o

leslie philips was born April 20, 1924,

making him i think the oldest surviving member of the original carry on team, at 81 years old, his number may not be up in 2005, but im putting money on him dying in 2006.

cause of death.... lack of life

babs has got a few years left yet, i think her recent illness was a publicity stunt to up the ratings in eastenders.

picture this peggy goes into the pub, see,s strangers behind the bar and shouts out "ger-ota my pub" wheres my phil.

im stating the beeding obvious here i know :(

At a guess I would say that Leslie Phillips will not go in 2006. Looks very healthy, but then again Bob Monkhouse looked perfectly healthy.

This thread reminds me- There is a woman I keep on seeing on the train from Victoria to streatham common. Grey hair in a bob cut, was in couple of carry on films, always played a stupid cockney, Lorraine Chase type before Lorraine Chase if you see what I mean. can anyone give me the name?
