Jiang Zemin

Recommended Posts

Surprised to learn there wasn't a forum for Jiang Zemin, president of China from 1993 to 2003.

He is already 93 years old and seems to be so frail that people were holding his arms to ensure he didn't fall at the funeral of Li Peng.

Those images are a year old on Wednesday. He's got to be soon to kick the bucket!

He was seen at PRC 70th anniversary celebration last October. He spoke for two hours and can walk with aid. He is not going anytime soon, actually.

Death rumours (completely false!) are circulating again after he failed to attend the PCC plenum. Mind you, both Zhu Rongji and Song Ping, who are severly ailing managed to appear, though not in person. Song looked frail and all he said was like "it's fine" after a 50 minute speech of someone else.

Jiang should probably be included on next year DL.

The company founded by his grandson, Boyu Capital, moves from Hong Kong to Singapore. Insiders say this is due to the declining influence of 94-year old Jiang, which is seen as a sign his health is not at best.

My browser wasn't able to translate this page, but the title seems to suggest that Jiang Zemin might be dead already, doesn't it?

Bullshit. Secretchina, Epoch Times, Soundofhope are all rubbish websites which spend 90% of their time attacking Jiang Zemin. I guarantee he is very much alive and it won't be fucking secretchina to break the news when he dies.

Fails to appear at CCP 100th anniversary. The old man is very sick as there is no reportedly political reason behind this.

Also absent premier Zhu Rongji, who has been hospitalised for over two years, and Jiang's henchman Luo Gan, who is said to be seriously ill too.

Present and in great shape was 104 year old fucker Song Ping, who quite stole the show.

Xi Jingping and Hu Jintao.

Song Ping. Do we know who are the two people behind him and the one next to him (+ the one behind the person next to him)? They don't look as great as the 104-year old.

Not sure but the guy next to the person behind him should be Hu Qili. Not bad for someone who was on his deathbed in 2018.

The one next to Song Ping could be former Defence Minister Cao Gangchuan (b. 1935)

Article on the mighty Jiang's 95th birthday. Actually made an appearance in October 2020. His and Zhu Rongji's deaths have been expected for quite some time.

Well enough to handwrite a message for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

He and Abdoulaye Wade will outlive QEII.

Well... His death wasnt over-shadowed by the Queen after all, just a little late.

(Arguably, nobody's death was over-shadowed, as it turned out. I thought Jean-Luc Godard got a sufficient amount of coverage.)

Mrs McCluskey and Piet Schrjivers I think would've got more coverage in normal circumstances.

New photo from his last birthday. He is under "medical care" but actually doesn't look bad at all.

Notice three oldest and ailing Chinese cadres, Zhu Rongji, Song Ping and Jiang Zemin have all managed to show up in some form in recent months. The upcoming CCP Congress may bring up other zombies such as Hu Qili and Chi Haotian.

It just seems it is not their time yet. IMHO three/four years will be needed before they even start to fall.

2 months is a long time when you are 96 though.

Should be on DL 2023 IMO if he makes it that far. The average lifespan of a toad (see this) is around 10-15 years and he's a bit above that

Like many of them now he and his wife live in a hospital. That does not mean they are particularly ill, just they have some issues which require to be monitored continuosly.

They will be kept alive no matter what. I think he'll actually make It to 100, maybe in dire condition, but still there. Bad Pick for 2023.
