Arghton's deadpool

Recommended Posts

I'm quite new here, but I am familiar with the concept of deathpools.

This one has few rules. You need to choose 250 you think won't be alive on 1st of January 2022.

The only rules are that they have to be atleast 18 years old at the time you have chosen them and they have to have an English wikipedia page. Only 20 can be centenarians and ten can be animals, if they happen to have an wikipedia page. The animals don't have to be 18 but animals over 100 count as centenarians.

Under 50-year olds are worth 3 points, animals are worth two and over 50-year olds are worth 1 point.

You can join whenever you want so I recommend joining right now. After 00:00 GMT 1st of January 2022 the points shall be counted and whoever has the most points wins this.

I got pretty tired after writing that list for over two hours. Could've instead have called him a far-right drug addict.

From wikipedia:

Peterson has characterized himself politically as a "classic British liberal,"[12][68][69] and as a "traditionalist."[70] However, he has stated that he is commonly mistaken to be right-wing. Yoram Hazony wrote in the Wall Street Journal that "[t]he startling success of his elevated arguments for the importance of order has made him the most significant conservative thinker to appear in the English-speaking world in a generation.

Hes not even right wing. He is arguably conservative from fiscal point of view but he isnt a Trump fan, nor a Boris fan - quite the opposite. You calling people right of Stalin 'far right' only wears down the definition (meaning Nazi/Fascist). Not only that but it makes you look like a special snowflake too, just sayin...

I don't care that much about what he is, for me his only purpose is to die within the next year and three months. I need to know nothing more about him.

I think 250 is a bit much for a Deadpool. Not sure I am going to bother with this one

Far, far too many for me.  And I greatly prefer pools where the entries are kept under wraps until the start date.

So thank you, but I won't be participating in this.

I think it is just 249, since Muhammad al-Fayadh and Mohamed Al-Fayed seem to be the same person, or?:scratchhead:

Ben Shapiro also considers himself a libertarian

Ok but Ben Shapiro is further right than Peterson. I dont personally think Shapiro is far right but I kinda get why people would call him that. Peterson lectures on personal accountability and looking inwards and finding personal flaws as a means to progress society - which is a fairly conservative leaning thought process but nothing to do with anything the far right entails (nothing to do with identity politics or holocaust denial etc). He often lectures on how important it is to make your bed in the morning etc...

The furthest right wing thing he's said is that there are 2 genders and he doesnt care if people are offended over it and then proceeded to own the channel 4 feminist that was interviewing him - leaving her stumped for words. That doesnt put him close to anyone on the right. Paul Joseph Watson, Stefan Molynuex, Ben Shapiro, Gavin McInnes, Mark Dice, Diamond and Silk etc are considered right wing. If you look into Jordan Peterson's politics, you'll notice his ideas are not in any way the same.

On the far right, I'd class that as Tommy Robinson, Britain First, Richard Spencer (and his other ethno-nationalist podcast buddies), the EDL, Nick Griffin, BNP and so on. The far right use harassment, intimidation and violence to bring across a message of segregation/genocide/prejudice concerning the colour of someone's skin or where they are from. I would not in any way class Jordan 'make your bed' Peterson in that catagory and anyone who does is thick as pig shit.

Replaced number 200 with Indonesian ISIS cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, 82, because apparently Bajro Ikanovic died according to Bosnian media in 2016. I didn't notice this while picking the candidates.

251                       618            Vanessa Redgrave

252                       619            Russell Gilbert

I think a couple of those might be dead already, but if so, I didnt see it during my last general maintenance.

Edit: It is true. Alexej Nawalny is the earliest still living person on my long-list. I had thought he'd be long dead by now.

Edit II: Replaced Shirley Morrison (died 2019) with Vanessa Redgrave.

Edit III: Hector Duff actually died in Dec 2020. Next one on my list is Australian Comedian Russell Gilbert.

My list is quite self explanatory - 20 centenarians, some animals, a joke pick, every name on my long list bar my attempted 2021 uniques, interest old folk, as many of Drol's "these guys never die" as I could find in 5 mins, and oldest living wrestlers of note to top it to 250.

Yeah, I suspect that might be the purpose of this pool.  B)
