Len Goodman

Recommended Posts

Len Goodman just came out of surgery for skin cancer. Looks like he wont be needing any further treatment though but I think its probably worth keeping an eye on him for the sake of recurrence

He seems quite well. I'd deem him unlikely to die in the next 5 years, but you never know with cancer.

Didn't he have prostrate cancer a couple of years ago as well.

Nah, his cancer was always standing up or sitting down.

Thank you, Bob Monkhouse et al, for that sic (sic) joke.

He’s being replaced as a judge in Dancing with the Stars. Hm...

Probally because he didn't fancy going out to LA and having to stay in a hotel (I believe he normally rents an apartment.)

How is he only 76? He's looked ancient for decades. All that ballroom dancing didn't do much to roll back the years clearly.

Cancer tends to do that sadly...

Prostate cancer in ‘09, skin cancer in ‘20. Either genetically unlucky or not taking care of himself.

Apart from the cancer the continuous flying across the Atlantic for the American Strictly for almost 20 years must have taken its toll. There is a theory that David Frost would have lived longer than 74 if his weekly commute to the USA had not occurred.

There's a great story on the BBC feed dedicated to him that he wasn't originally meant to be on Strictly. Bruno, Arlene and Craig were meant to be joined by a "big name in the dance world" but they dropped out days before the start date. No one else they'd seen had been suitable, so they asked the pros if they'd missed anyone. It was Erin Boag who said "Have you tried Len Goodman? He's just a dance teacher but he's got a funny way about him." The rest is history. Talk about a sliding doors moment!

A proper old school gent. RIP, Len.

Damn and blast you, past DP!

R.I.P, Len. A complete gentleman (with wit to match!) gone way too soon.

We don’t get TV in the mountains but was this man known as the ‘Dancing Rabbi’?

I've honestly never heard of this man.

However, this time, even my own family are giving me abuse for my ignorance and not only that, but @Paul Bearer knows who he is as well.

Obviously life is passing me by, but I can't believe the rest of humanity seems to watch Come Dancing now.

I've never watched it either. Can't understand the attraction.  I did know this fellow was a judge on it, only because of mentions on here though.
