Yaphet Kotto

Recommended Posts

I thought it was time to include a forum for 80 year old Yaphet Kotto, following the many recent deaths of actors involved in the James Bond franchise.

I think Kotto should make his inaugural DL appearance in 2021.

Any other reason for him going on DL 2021 apart from him being old? Is he frail/terminally ill?

I cannot be sure if Kotto is frail/terminally ill, however, drol stated that Kotto was “not so well”, in the Ian Holm thread, earlier this year. I also feel as though 2021 is Kotto’s year and that he’ll pass on at the age of 81.

Good call by those who thought he could be in trouble.  Growing up, I remember him as one of Schwarzenegger's cohorts in The Running Man.  I know he did a lot more than that, obviously.

Just reading the statement from his wife. She seems pretty surprised that he died. Sounds like a sudden end after a period of relatively poor health.

Shame. A somewhat underrated actor I felt

Another actor who I had to google to put a face to the name. Like a fair few of those in the character actors thread. Alien and Homicide then  sprang straight to mind. RIP.

Now that's a good prediction! Well done, well done.

R.I.P.

I remember him well from the movie. And the actors of Tee Hee, Whisper and Baron Samedi are dead too.

Just Ripley, Lambert and Dallas left now.

Just enough for a Silver Screen team

Just the girls left from Live and Let Die now. Solitaire and Rosie. Should be around for a long while though.

Names is for tombstones baby!

Crazy to think he was only 32 when he made LALD. Quite young for a Bond Villain. Toby Stephens was the next time there was an actor that young playing the Villain

I agree with the ones in bold but barely in the top ten for the others.
