I predicted the record would be broken right from the very start and there we are.

Yes well done but it took four centenarians and the worst global pandemic for 100 years to break the record. It will be hard to ever break this year's record, even though there will no doubt be more centenarians coming through eventually.

No it won't. It's easily doable. The Committee just needs to stop picking people who are total wildcards e.g. Alan Greenspan and stop reserving about 20 spots for folk who are "too big to miss" but unlikely to actually die anytime soon e.g. the Queen.

Anyway VGE was in very fair health at the end of 2019. He wouldn't have been picked with that logic.

Clearly the Committee has started to adopt the blindingly obvious strategy of picking, you know, older people. They put on all the famous centenarians they could find. And why not? That's how to win the game.

It'll be cold, cold day in hell before I recognise Bill Gate's dad as a hit this year, still need one more to break the record.

Ok, so you do realise that Vera Lynn, de Havilland and Kirk Douglas were picked for consecutive years without any of them dying until 2020?

I agree, the Queen must be odds on to reach 100.
