Who Should Make The Deathlist In 2021?

Recommended Posts

What about L.Q. Jones? Turns 94 next year, was a prolific film and TV actor for decades one of Peckinpah’s regulars, appeared in Casino also directed cult sci-fi A Boy & His Dog.

Julie Burchill is worth consideration IMHO, renowned piss artist, chain smoker, drug taker and unhealthy eater. Now 61 and sounds as though little has changed, probably lapsed even further into old habits after her son offed himself in 2015. At pretty high risk of stroke/diabetes/aneurysm/heart attack/cancer by now I’d have thought.

Also Billy Connolly I reckon is worth a punt, been a few years since his Parkinson’s diagnosis, seems at peace with the end being near plus obvious COVID risk, might even refuse treatment

Swedish diplomat and politician Hans Blix is 92 now, best known internationally as the man appointed by the UN to head up the investigation into Iraq’s non-existent WMDs prior to the 2003 invasion. His passing would generate a few column inches at the least.

Going through my longlist right now, Richard Hadlee might not be a bad shout since it's now known his cancer is at stage 4...

Godard deserves a place on the list. He could go any time, he is possibly the world's most influential film-maker now living (and his death will surely be followed by much discussion about whether his films were any good or not), and he's an "icon" of the 1960s.

The Duke of Kent is on his last legs.

I'd put him down for a possible maybe next year.

The Duchess of Cambridge would like him to fuck off so she can take over his presenting duties at Wimbledon for once and for all.

Gerd Muller sounds pretty near the end -  must be a good chance he will go next year. Needs to be considered.

New Zealand cricketers have terrible luck don’t they. Wonder if Kane Williamson will reach 40.

Still don't understand why Bill Gatas father "William Gates" was included. Even though he died was a hit, and not Little Richard and Sean Connery that was big bosses this year. Hope it is more notabene names to 2021.

Like.

John Astin

Gene Hackman

Buzz Aldrin

Michael Collins.

All born in 1930.

Don't say that they will die 2021, but I think that many big names-ish tas been missed. So I hope all this 4 born in 1930 is included on the 2021 list please:old::bow:. Cuzz if these 4 are included I see no problem to be included then if Bill Gates Senior was. Do at least ung

Include 2 of them, if not all 4 them.

+pheraps Michael Schumacher, Rosslynn Carter and  Walter Mundale and Jack Nicholson. Would apprenritice  that this was on 2021 list.for example i

I wrote the Jerry Stiller thread and it was a hit. Also Chritopher Tolkien, but he died before being included on the list. Same with Carol channing, that I Said would be good pick for 2020, but was not included on that list and died some weeks into 2020. So I feel like those people I wrote should be included on the 2021+ Ozzy Osbourne Cuz he is the last survivor of the original 1987 Deathlist. But this is all my opinion. So Cold somrone be so kind to tag some of the admins to judge my comment and what they think about it?

I don't know. It is a relative thing, The Yorkshire Ripper and Ian Brady are hardly known outside the UK (I know the rules are they get a UK obit - I am British, so being British is a huge help on this site).

Someone like the Duke of Kent is pretty low on the pecking order of royals, these days so time and space play a part, too.

Tom Baker is way more famous, for example.

Prince Phillip will keep his number 1 spot because, well, the list is gunning for him.

I would like to see Rush Limbaugh in the number 50 spot because he has stage 4 lung cancer but I am sure lots of people are "worthy" of being on the list.

Also not deserving of a knighthood. An OBE was sufficient for walking round the garden a few times over a extended period.

Yeah, I thought that at the time of the announcement. It seemed like a convenient opportunity for the palace to roll out her majesty, for a socially distant appearance. At the very least, throughout the Summer.

Nothing to do with the Queen.

If you recall it was Boris who made the announcement to divert from the bad news of the day.

A special appointment no less...didn't even wait for the honours list to be published.

John Savident who played Fred Elliott in Corrie.  82 now though has always looked about that age,  no news about him since 2012.  If he is still that obese he could be a good pick.

His in my opinion. The names Doug Scott & Dougal Haston were pretty much 'household names' back in the day.

Just cross posting here in case the committee cares (they don't)...
