You guys and girls managed to pick them well. We've got it all covered.

Christopher Plummer is a unique hit for Baby Blue. Josh Evans is a unique hit for Joey Russ. Mike Henry is a unique hit for Gooseberry Crumble. Hal Holbrook as written above was picked twice, and the Captain Tom Moore was picked quite a lot.

That's five hits in a week!

 

The new scoreboard shows Joey making the biggest jump, but it's not quite enough to surpass Cpt. Chorizo. Josh Evans is also an example of someone I picked for the DDP but not in here, so you know, at some point in late December, I decided to say "Fuck it, let's pick him". But I hadn't arrived at that point for this competition.

Well, well, well, the hits keep on coming faster than I can update.

 

First, msc gets a belated unique hit with Dovid Soloveitchik, forgot about that, sorry!

And then, who else, Susan Bayh, Leon Spinks, Karen Lewis - oh and then, Jean-Claude Carriere, a unique hit for Yorkshire Banker (here and in the DDP, well done). And Ron Wright.

Ironically, Diana Ross has been picked, but not Mary Wilson. Neither was George Shultz picked. So I guess, it could have been even more.

 

The scoreboard impresses with me with the lockstep advances of the top. Places 1-4 unchanged:

ah yes, Rush Limbaugh indeed picked by almost everyone. Dai Davies and Carlos Menem not far behind.

S. Clay Wilson was a skilled pick by Salmon Mousse, with the New York Times obit.

Lawrence Ferlinghetti is another hit.

I think that's it? We had a slight slowdown, but then the speed until then was dizzying.

 

The scoreboard remains relatively unchanged as the really big and young uniques have been missing. Cpt. Chorizo manages to extend his lead because Rush Limbaugh was his joker, same choice as the oldlady. Too safe, too sound? We will see...

Yaphet Kotto is a unique hit for the Daredevil. Murray Walker was a popular hit, of course. Trevor Peacock is a hit for several people, too. Ian St. John - another hit.

Nobody picked Luis Palau...?

Alright, where were we?

Lee Noble is a bit of a fork on the road for those who had picked him, and those who didn't. Peter Lorimer is a clever unique pick for Cpt Chorizo - who just doesn't miss a single beat in this game (and that includes Lee Noble, who he picked here but not in the DDP!). Nawal al Saadawi is the usual clever and classy DDT unique pick. Plus, there was the popular perennial pick of Beverly Cleary, and Frank Worthington, a unique hit for drol.

Salmon Mousse punches their joker card, pushing them to a strong second, but that might quite possibly been the biggest push they could expect. I gain three places because of Lee Noble. 

The scoreboard is most impressive in the sheer distance between the top three and the rest. And Salmon Mousse has already used their joker. Cpt Chorizo did too, though. If he had chosen a different joker, like Lee Noble, one could basically give him the trophy already. But as it is, somebody might still grind it out in the long run.

Alright, let's have a bit of an update...

I actually forgot about Bibian Mentel, so.. thanks! She was picked by only a few, but yielded quite a few points.

Paul Cosford and Sarah Hughes are also hits, the latter is a unique hit for me.

Plus Alcee Hastings, picked here and there.

Rodion Rosca was a bit of a "Guardian or bust" gamble. It's pretty certain that it didn't work, for Banana and me. It's my third non-obit - quite possibly a record!

Dramatic changes are missing though. Wormfarmer rises two places because of Bibian Mentel.

We've had hits....

Many had Prince Philip, and chilean way even gets joker points for him.

Baby Blue had this impressive double unique with DMX and Bernie Madoff.

There was also Sunday Burquest, picked by 4 people, but only msc actually climbed in the rankings because of that. It was more of a hit that bunched people closer together.

Plus, Walter Mondale was picked by two teams.

 

Now, for some reason, I thought there was another hit? Maybe not.. those five it is.
