I know you'll want to know.

Greg Gilbert is DEAD.

Sadly not surprising. Had stopped tweeting around September 1st. For someone who regularly posted their thoughts and retweeted others, it was a foreshadowing of his impending demise.

That's sad news, though not a surprise.

I used to post on a forum where one of The Delays was a regular - can't remember if it was Greg but whoever he was he was a nice chap.

Seemed to be a good guy, if his last years on social media show the real guy. At least, he had a few more good years since his diagnosis, and actually a bit of a second career.

Yes, very sad. But what's even sadder is that I didn't pick him in the DDP or the AOP.

This bears to be the Funeral Notice of Jonathan Alwyn, British TV director and producer, who died on 29th August: https://www.dignityfunerals.co.uk/funeral-notices/29-08-2021-jonathan-alwyn/

Directing credits include The Avengers, Doomwatch, Enemy At The Door and Juliet Bravo.

Son of British composer and musician William Alwyn and grandfather of actor and record producer Joe Alwyn. Who says nepotism doesn't work?

Not sure how true this is, but Anthony O'Shaughnessy, who featured as a 13 year old on the cover of Dexy's Midnight Runners' album cover for Searching For The Young Soul Rebels, has apparently died:

Here's a news report from 11 years ago?

Big year for people most remembered for leading important inquiries with him and William Macpherson both going.

He was also a former president of the National Congress of American Indians. They don't get much of the spotlight, but they are a big influencer behind the scenes. There have been 22 presidents total, with Earl Old Person serving as the 6th from 1969-1970. I am not sure if this group has been mentioned here before, but it is quite a rabbit hole to see who is alive and dead!

Did he change his name when he got to his 70s/80s or was he born an Old Person?

I think he was just the Honourable Old Person until the previous Earl died.

I guess nobody talks about how much younger Gary Oldman was when he was a child.

No, that’s when he changed his first name to Earl.
