Gerhard Richter, the world's most valuable (and the market is always right?) classical artist, turns 90 today (:birthday::birthday2:):

https://www.dw.com/en/artist-gerhard-richter-at-90/a-60694533

He would be an unusual, but also justified entry for the DeathList. There are no real news on his health though, at first glance. He's also a bit reclusive.

In other news, German Schlagerstar and top name on the Majorca booze circuit, Mickie Krause, has bladder cancer:

https://www.n-tv.de/leute/Mickie-Krause-hat-Blasenkrebs-article23114636.html

It was discovered while he was preparing for a cancer benefit TV show...good timing.

One from our very long longlist (who received nul points): Austrian local politician Eleonore Schönborn has died at age 101.

She is also the mother of Cardinal Christoph Schönborn and is a pick in the DDP and maybe in the Centenarians DP.

Not sure who picked her or indeed why.

There's more chance of Putin pulling out of Ukraine then sending a hamper with mini muffins and an apology letter than there is of her getting a QO.

Also a DDP pick, though I'm not sure whether of this year or last year, so either LotL or LotM.

We do have a second hit, it's Egidius Braun, former president of the DFB, who died at the age of 97.

Thanks to @YoungWillz for letting me know!

I've picked him here and there before for years. He looked bad 10 years ago, but lasted impressively long. He just had his birthday 2 weeks ago, nothing seemed different from the years before.

Right.

He is a bedblocker in my German theme team for 5 years, now finally a unique hit, if he's getting a qo.

Hermann Nitsch, Austrian avant-garde artist who worked in experimental and multimedia modes, has died at age 83. He was a main representative of the Viennese Actionism. He made a name for himself with his actions involving slaughtered animals and naked people. His "orgy-mystery theater" with blood, cadavers and entrails became his trademark.

One from our long-long list.
