I feel this crowdsourced list regular suffering from dementia longer than anyone else notable deserves her own thread.

Poor Grim Reapers never going to get the thrill of creating a new Hogmanay DL thread again at this rate!

What’s the point of making threads for people like this who we won’t hear any news about until they die?

People are so desperate to make threads in this site.

Oh, I just can’t wait for threads of Frank Ifield, Orrin Hatch, and Robert Fripp now...

That piece of news dates back to January 2017, it is just reported once in a while by Italian clickbait sites.

A fair pick for the list when she turns 90, I'd say.

Now 90.

How much longer will she live? Ten years since it was disclosed that "Alzheimer's disease has removed her from the public gaze for the last 15 years" and her biography apparently suggests that the memory loss already started around 34 years ago, in 1987.

Vitti has been living with it longer than anyone notable, the other ones in the top 5 probably being Carmen Sevilla (Over 9 years in late-stage alzheimer's), Margarita Terekhova (15 years with it, in late stages for atleast five years), Pasqual Maragall (14-15 years with Alzheimer's) and Joanne Woodward (around 12-13 years with it? In late stages for years)

There are a group of actors and actresses who are style icons of Sixties art cinema, and Monica Vitti is one of them. I'd rank her with Jeanne Moreau, Catherine Deneuve, Stephane Audran, Anna Karina, or on the male side Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Marcello Mastroianni, Jean-Louis Trintignant... quite apart from the possible Alzheimer's record.

Incidentally the only 60s director with that kind of iconic status still alive is Godard. He really should be on the list.

She'd been ill longer than several of the posters on this bloody forum had been alive!

Have seen her in L'Avventura and Modesty Blaise. Not that that has stopped me from constantly mixing her up with Daniela Bianchi from From Russia with Love (who incidentally turned 80 on Monday).

Took around 25-35 years, more or less. Rest in Peace.
