Fuck. Forgot deadline is tomorrow. Been stupidly busy so haven’t even started compiling my next round team. I’ll try getting round to it later, but in the meantime, I cordially invite Wormfarmer to get 2 hits right fucking now.

Understandably, I think, I’m not sending a team in Joey. Thanks for running and well done Spade - you GUNned me down!

So for the first time in my tenure as host, I have to prepare a coin toss. And no, Bibliogryphon doesn’t have to wait and see if he’s a lucky loser since he actually scored for once! No, this time it’s theoldlady and deadsox who has to wait and see if they win the coin toss. Hey, a coin toss in March. Deadsox won one of those in 2017. But nothing eventful came from that coin toss, definitely not. But, it remains to be seen, does he move on or is he stuck in round 2? And if he loses, could theoldlady be the one who makes it all the way? Well, let’s find out now:

Oldlady (Heads) vs deadsox (Tails)

Heads 1-0

Tails 1-1

Tails 1-2

Tails 1-3

Deadsox moves on

So, unless theoldlady ends up getting a hit in the next 11 hours, she’s stuck in round 2.
As for our lucky loser system, if one of our 16 teams don’t end up submitting, this is who is up (based on total points, point differentials, age of hits, and if still tied coin flip):

1. An Fear Beag

2. HDS

3. Annami

Sent in my team, found it very difficult to whittle it down to 11 this time.

Hopefully I haven't overthought the "who's the most dying?" last-minute changes...

Everyone is in now except for @DevonDeathTrip, who I’m sure is waiting until one second to the deadline to submit something

Shout-out to @HDS for being a superb opponent and for making me sweat for the full month. I was resigned to writing a loser's speech after seeing how well put-together your team was. Then again, sometimes you only need a few punts and some favourable tiebreaker conditions.

One thing I'm sure of, though, is that the same luck won't carry over to my matchup with Spade, because Spade.

As it seems a little unlikely now that one of my picks will drop off in the next hour, may I offer Book my congratulations on a well deserved victory. I knew it wasn't going to be easy when I saw the draw, and so it proved. Best of luck for the rest of the Cup.

Thanks again Joey for running such a great pool (even though your decision ultimately proved so costly- may the ghost of Anne Marie Panzarelli haunt you forever )

Nice, good work, Joey.

And looks like a tough match against Book this month - with a shared not so obvious joker too!

Okay, so I had it in my head that you couldn’t carry over your picks from last round. So basically more than half of the team I submitted wouldn’t have made the cut.

Bugger, bollocks and arse.

Thanks for the compliments. Wish I’d had your savvy to invest in DaCosta. A tense matchup but the better list won out. Congrats to you, Clorox, and best of luck in the following rounds.

@Annami well played, 9 points would normally be enough to get through to the next round so bad luck.

Really hope you stick around in DL and have another go next year :salute:

I'm really sorry, actually you should have won, you lost 2 picks so close to the start ... and winning because of the age bonus doesn't feel right either!

Oh, I think this will be quite the spectacular round. @Perhaps I think your team is quite good. Gene Champagne was my first sub sub (i.e. addition to the subs bench after I lost those two picks mentioned above). Angelicoussis was also a pick I had on my mind.

Good luck to all!

@BabyBlue I hope for better luck for  you next time! A shame your joker wasn't dying as quickly as many of us, me included, thought.
