Youth in Asia 1,087 Posted February 15, 2021 If it was one from each continent I'd do it
drol 11,980 Posted February 19, 2021 @arghton, there are some serious problems with this pool: 1)It won't be over in a reasonable time. Having to pick young people for countries in which you could not find better means this will last about thirty years. I'll be long dead (or hopefully very demented) in thirty years. 2)Only you and me are playing. Theres should be more competitors. My proposal is to turn this into a "One for Continent" game like @Youth in Asia suggested. It would be much quicker and many rounds could be done, like in the Silver Screen Pool, and there surely will be much more partecipation. Obviously that's one of your games, so the final decision is up to you.
arghton 6,771 Posted February 19, 2021 I'll most likely do "x (1-10) for each continent". Anyways as it didn't work i'll try to change it in a few hours.

If x = < 2 then I would be in and it would be a good alternative global pool with an interesting USP.
arghton 6,771 Posted February 19, 2021 Now it's with two per continent, 12 in total. Pick a max of 2 over 95-year olds and atleast two under 75-year olds.

I'd play if it was one per continent. ETA - No, I'm out. It spoils the game when people post their selections openly before anyone else has even thought about it. Banana 859 Posted February 20, 2021 Getting these forums, which are largely UK focused, to participate in a pool which is centered on two continents with little UK attention probably won’t work out. The idea could work though for European/EU countries. Have it so that maybe like 1 man, 1 woman from each country and whoever has the most hits in a year wins that year. Even then you’ll probably still run into the same issues with participation.
drol 11,980 Posted February 21, 2021 I'm very happy about internationalizing DL a bit. Two names for continents is fine. Only thing I don't approve is the limit of age. If they are over 95 it does not mean they will die at all, and the older they grow the less those fucker die. But apart from that (by which I mean the game will take a lot of time even with old/ill people only), I'm perfectly fine with the restyling.
