Sounds like a flood is on the way. The heatwave season and the dry hot  earth scorched  by oppressive drought and temperatures will be over soon.

Planet deathlist will be very wet and moist just the way we like it!

An optimistic in here after all! :D

I think it might be too late for that!:P;)

Don't ever change, @Gooseberry Crumble, you're a wonderful and humane person, your joy of living is contagious! :D
But... I think there's something I should tell you... Vera Miles is still alive, I can feel it. :P

Your too kind thank you!

I will be interested to see if Vera Miles is still alive at the end of the year whether you choose her for one of your lists or dead  pools or if I have a cat in hells chance of having her as a unique pick in the Derby Dead Pool!

I think if Jimmy and Roselyn died together, they would die happy

(Although Jack and Amy would be twice as devastated!)

It's the same concept involving losing both parents at once sooo

currently on an 127 days drought

what we're trying to beat here is 151 days. (2011)

after that we got 175 days  (2003-2004)

177 days (2000-2001)

and then 183 days (2002-2003)

So it seems to be already in the top 5 longest droughts of the millenium

update

currently on a 140 days drought

what we're trying to beat here is 151 days. (2011)

after that we got 175 days  (2003-2004)

177 days (2000-2001)

and then 183 days (2002-2003)

11 days to go and we will be on the longest drought in deathlist history in a single year since 1991 (the year with 0 hits)

on the 19th the record will officially be broken.

Crazy to think we’re on the cusp of the longest drought since the early years. Still hopeful we’ll get to 11 or 12 but equally hope the record goes in the next day or so

At this point, I hope we aren’t : it would be a record and kind of crazy to finish the year with 7 deaths and no hits since april

Could be 1 or 2 hits yet. Dole or Greaves or Phillips perhaps?

The list is shit though. The Committee clearly got cocky after having such a strong year in 2020. A list with a generous helping of healthy nonagenarians is not going to get many hits.

I said so on Jan 1st. Some users agreed with me, some strongly disagreed and suggested I was just being a pessimist iirc. Starting to feel vindicated.

I'm still betting on Dole not making it to 2022 considering his age, health history and of course the stage IV lung cancer.

However some of the stroke survivors on the list could go before him. Of course I'll be wrong though

The danger of a good year it uses up some of the hits that might have just lasted into this year. A slow Autumn might bode well for 2022
