Well @YoungWillz breaks his duck with the fifth unique hit of the game with Don Demeter

Three of the five players who have unique hits only have their unique hit - myself included

There are currently four players who have yet to hit a home run in this game

@arghton

@MariNisia

@DeathByArsenic

@YorkshireBanker

Hoping this game manages to last into the New Year because I think things will be busy until The New Year

   E. O. Wilson                               bg, bp, mc, ro

This is my second overall hit in a second category

For @BuffaloPhil this is a fifth hit across three categories.

@msc gets a fifth hit across four categories but former champion @RoverAndOut gets a sixth hit across three categories but is the first player to reach three hits in one category.

Crikey, I'm a 97-year-old lyricist and a 98-year-old composer away from nicking this! That's a turn up for the books!

This should add some Jeopardy to those already in a winning position but you need both of yours and they need any from about 5 each

Looks like it may well come down to the cabinet ministers.

I've only just realised that I'm the only one to have had a hit in that category so far.  Incredible.

Only one miss so far as well. Annoyingly healthy bunch, it seems.

Viktor Saneyev is a hit for me in Olympic Gold Medalists.

A unique hit for @Captain Hemlock is a second hit in a second category but only needs two more uniques

Charanjit Singh is a unique for @Spade_Cooley his third hit overall and his second in the Summer Olympics category but he now needs two more uniques across his five teams to shout "Hearse"

Grammy and Pulitzer award winning composer George Crumb (1929-2022) passed away on February 6, 2022, at age 92, at his Media, PA home.

Ahem.

George Crumb picked by me in the Pulitzer category, thank you.

(goddammit that's two hits in such a short space of time since this started, ha ha :lol:)

Edit: And for @Spade_Cooley I believe.

George Crumb gives @YoungWillz his second hit both in separate categories and  @Spade_Cooley a fourth hit across three categories

It never ceases to amaze me how many hits we can still achieve in this when 4 or 5 people are only waiting for one to finish the game. :lol:

Currently only two players are in a finishing position. The first game dragged for ages

Really? Only 2?! Thought it was more than that. Well, it will be soon enough... :rolleyes:

Gerald Williams is sort of a miss in World Series champions. He was with the 1996 Yankees and got a World Series ring, but he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers late in the season and didn’t play in the World Series.

Thank You @Toast but that has put the cat firmly amongst the pigeons

Jackie/Jack Robinson a veteran of the 1948 London Games was a unique hit for @BuffaloPhil but he was also his sixth hit in a fourth category which means he only needs a UK Cabinet Minister to win. However he shares three of his cabinet minister picks with @msc and by both metrics (uniques and total number of hits) Buffalo Phil will claim precedent so there are now three players who can all finish in the same way (one in each category) but the number of picks that will finish the game only increases by two.

1.       Vasily Borisov (to)

2.       Irene Camber (to)

3.       Gordy Giovenelli (to)

4.       Roy Hattersley (mc)

5.       Douglas Hurd (bp)

6.       Nigel Lawson (mc)

7.       James Mackay (bp)

8.       John Morris (bp)

9.       Koji Murofushi (to)

10.   Bob Richards (to)

11.   Bill Rodgers (bp)

12.   Norman Tebbit (bp)
