Dennis Hutchings, former soldier picked in a few games on here as he's on trial for shooting a man in Northern Ireland in the 70s. Anyhow, the trials' adjourned for now as Hutchings is in hospital.

HBO and Cablevision founder Charles "Chuck" Dolan is still alive and 95 today. I don't know if he has been mentioned here before.

Singer Anita  Pointer  was scheduled to appear on the TV show The Masked Singer with her sister Ruth but dropped out to deal with health issues.

Anita Pointer was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2011.
She treated it and came out free of cancer in the following year.
Maybe... her cancer's back.

Once you've had cancer, recurrence is your biggest fear.
And... Jada, Pointer's only daughter, died of pancreatic cancer in 2003.
I can only give her my best wishes.

Well there goes the hope I had of her as a unique pick in 2022.

Well unlikely as Anita Pointer was picked by three teams this year. Including me.

Though she doesn't qualify for my theme team, sometimes if they don't I stick them on my main team.

2 and a half months to go...

I tend to take Spade DDP hints from October onwards with a pinch of salt and wariness of double/triple bluffs.

Of course, this is how I missed out on Peter Tork a few years ago!

I was going to keep it to myself hoping she'd be a unique pick for me but I saw about 4 people  picked her this year when I checked so I decided the chance of a unique pick anyway being rather slim.

First mention on the forum, and never picked on the DDP, Celeste Caeiro is 88 now. She was the waitress who, lacking any food to give mutinous soldiers during the Portuguese coup of 1974, gave them carnations to decorate their guns with instead, leading to it being called the Carnation Revolution.

I've heard of trying to get off your trial, but that's taking method acting a bit far!

I predict Paul Hogan, Frank Langella, Julie Andrews, John Cleese, Harvey Keitel, and Bob Newhart will go in 2022. I hope Feinstein, Waters, and Pelosi go too. It’s time to purge Congress.

Hope I'm not spoiling someone's "unique pick" by suggesting a certain black and white horror movie actor and director who was recently reported to be in poor health?

Not suggested or mentioned with any relevant updates on the forum in over 2 years.

The link to the article about his health has a GDPR block on it. Can you please copy and paste the relevant info?

I'll try a few other sources:

Like this one

Or this one

Failing that, here's a screenshot from the original article with the relevant health information (I even included the address for those who wish to send him a 'get well soon' card, which I may end up doing).

News of his ill health actually rolled into my lap a few weeks ago despite my being retired from deadpool research! Knew others would be aware once websites started reporting though.

Unless there is any evidence of ill health I would not go anywhere near Andrews or Cleese.

I don't even think Cleese will be the next Python to go

Two Premiers/Prime Ministers of the Soviet Union still living, both older than Gorbachev:

Nikolai Ryzhkov (1929-) Premier 1985-1991. Still active, however he's a 91-year old overweight guy with heart problems, had a major heart attack in 1991.

Ivan Silayev (1930-) Last Premier 1991. Seen in public less than Ryzhkov.

ryzhkov.png.0a0de388d57544525fbda6f335050ff3.png

Ryzhkov was actually recently appointed for another term as senator in the 170-member Federation Council, upper house of the Russian parliament. He's 92 but could go on for a couple of years.

It was December 1990, not 1991 when he got that heart attack and was succeeded by Valentin Pavlov. Pavlov died eighteen years ago.

Ivan Silayev is 91 today, can't find any new articles, pictures or anything.

I’d add

Michel Bouquet (b. 1925) : actor

Jean-Louis Trintignant (b. 1930) : actor

Alain Delon (b. 1935) : actor

Françoise Hardy (b. 1944) : singer

Those four definitely should be on the 2022 DL, along with French DL regulars: Jacques Delors and Jean-Marie Le Pen. Jean-Luc Godard wouldn’t be a bad shout either.

I always forgot Just Fontaine is still alive. He might be the only one of those to make front pages of any British news websites (BBC sport in his case). Nit sure how many of the others will get any British news coverage.

I'm surprised not to see Brigitte Bardot mentioned.

This is just a list of names I found about recently while reading the great book (which I recommand) Je Me Souviens by Georges Perec. This book was published in 1978 so I thought everyone mentioned there was dead but these few names are not !
Delon, Hardy, Godart, Bouquet and Trintignant have been in my french list since I started deathlist. These are the names that I will keep on till they die cause of their notoriety and their age.
Bardot on an other hand is not on my list this year but will probably be in 2022 : I don’t see her dying before 89 or 90 but this is the kind who is « too big to miss » in France.
if you want french names check my signature !
