Who?

I sometimes read my wifes "Hello" rag and hardly know any of the 'celebs' in there either. I have no idea who Ruth Warwick is (was) but she seemed to have caused a lot of comments.

QUOTE from linked website

He was a farmer and rodeo rider who, after gaining weight, became a blacksmith...

There was no picture there. I can do faces, not too good with names.

According to IMDB...

'He was a farmer and rodeo rider who, after gaining weight, became a blacksmith... '

So, he was a fat man with a hammer.

In fact, the commercial is airing right now as I'm typing. They made a mockery of his commercials a few years ago on SNL.

Whilst studying his photo I can't help thinking that there seems to be a fire behind him.

Actually Uncle Oatmeal will only be 71 in September of this year since he first was grown in Oatdale in 1934.

What a Cock

Apparently Mr Brimley supports cock-fighting, although I too have never heard of him.

I love the quote from this article

"We have no intention of telling Mr. Brimley what he can or can't do with his dog."

Looking at him, I feel that he probably does need telling exactly what he can't do with his dog.

And his cock.

From Anubis's link:

The grandfatherly actor and oatmeal pithchman

What is an oatmeal pithchman?

What is an oatmeal pithchman?

A Pitchman perhaps?

ie, a hawker, salesman, or other low-life, bottom feeding, scum-sucking, tromboning animal.

Scum sucking? Is that similar to felching as discussed elsewhere on these pages?

Not too sure as to the exact meaning of tromboning in this context either.

Apart from that, you seem to quite like salespeople.

It would clearly depend where you choose to look.

There are numerous sites out there which show his date of birth as September 27,1934 among them are the following:

http://nerf-headers-anonymous.net/WilfordBrimley.html

http://www.infoplease.com/ipea/A0763050.html

http://www.nndb.com/people/593/000022527

http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0763050.html

http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Hills/8528/danza2.html

http://www.deadoraliveinfo.com/dead.nsf/bn...Brimley+Wilford

http://www.dougmacaulay.com/kingspud/sel_b...or_last=Brimley this site tells us he arrived in Hollywood in 1940 at age 6.

The french give us http://allocine.fr/personne/fichepersonne....?cpersonne=5201

Clearly one of the confusions in existance is that there are 3 or 4 places which erroneously list his date of birth as 1924, however in all other places (more than just a mere vast majority) it is shown as 1934 and Mr. Brimley himself can vouch for this.

It also refers to Wilf's enjoyment of scooping up handfuls of freshly cooked oatmeal and pitching it at an unsuspecting person who he's taken a fancy to and then he proceeds to offer a phony apology followed by an offer of licking the oatmeal off of his object of desire. Surprisingly this has worked quite well for him.

She was the wife in Citizen Kane. As for how you confused her with Wilford I guess I'll never know. They really look nothing alike.

That depends on the circumstances Josco was referring to. They probably look alike in the dark and in the heat of the moment. Eh, Josco?
