So, I'm giving it everything to be decent and fair here. Can I draw the crowd's attention to rule 5

5 - Each team must nominate one member as a joker and the joker scores double points on death. Any team submitted without a clearly nominated joker will be allotted said joker on the basis of the name at the top of the team sheet being so designated.

AND...

Then give GC a day to nominate a joker. After which it'll be Walters by default.

And finally...

The next jokerless team will come under rule 5, because my current week of a chilled leave from work is about to come to an end so time will be limited when the next line ups come in.

Yeah, I know a guy who won this thing twice and has a terrible habit of forgetting to add a joker to his team.

Yeah, well... if GC adds one on 3 December I don't see anyone crying foul.

After which the first name being the default is out in the open in case anyone missed it.

You feeling confident re your 2022 dead pools then, msc?

Wildly out of practice, I wouldn't expect anything of note in 2022 tbh.

Although both my Deathrace wins were based on sheer dumb luck, which I always welcome. :D

Come on, @msc, don't be so modest. You're an excellent player.

Your list will be one of the best of this pool. I'm absolutely sure about this.

Well, if you spell his username out loud, it almost sounds like "am Messi", who's also humble so...Would be hilarious if Messi was secretly a deathpooler.

So, with Anthony Sher taking his final curtain call today - there's THREE non-starters in this team, still a couple of spare subs but...

YB clearly has a hotline to the Grim Reaper, or summat

Dole has been duly subbed - hugely popular pick with those already there. A few updates:

1 - Dying Probably has the second pick on the team sheet as default joker (since the team arrived without a joker and Dole was the original default by being in first place)

2 - Yorkshire Banker named FIVE subs including Dole (who was already in play) and is now down to one serviceable bench-warmer. If you want the inside track on who is likely to die in the next few days, you could do worse than look at YB's line up hereabouts.

Alain Delon

This 86-year-old icon of French cinema (who starred alongside Trintignant in Flic Story and with Vitti in The Eclipse), expressed he was sick of the world and ready to die as long as his dog went with him, back in January 2018. In 2019, he suffered a stroke and following Jean-Paul Belmondo’s death last September, Delon hinted in a statement that he himself won’t be around much longer......

Also posted this on the Dead of... thread, simply because things get seen there. Could do with a little help...

There's dead pool points - maybe - riding on this (basically, someone's messaged me asking about including Moth Winn on a Deathrace team!) Raynor Winn- best selling author who writes about her terminally ill husband in her autobiographical books - has made Moth Winn famous enough to be obitable and I'm struggling to know if he's alive. A few of the bot-driven barrel scraping online emporia of obits appear to have him dead sometime in the summer of this year, though they can't agree on a month, let alone a date of death. Can't find owt that'd count as a q/o in a standard dead pool and - short of ringing up Raynor and fucking her Christmas over by raising the issue of dead pool points, I'm stumped as to whether Moth counts as a dead pool pick. Anyone know?

Here's the lassie herself:
