Don West has brain lymphoma, not glioblastoma, but a different kind of brain cancer. Maybe it's just some spots that have returned, nothing serious? But now, I do think that the cancer must be surprisingly aggressive.

From what I read, recurrences of brain lymphoma have a median survival rate of 7 months.

Also I should say, I'm not very happy with you for taking my Hellstrom unique away from me.

Heh, sorry, but I'm sure he'll be picked here and there. He's too much like a new Lars Hogh not to be. There's also the Scandinavian theme team.

He’s already on msc’s team as well so he’s not unique

I had considered Steve Lawrence for my US charttoppers theme team, but noticed that he was already picked by a crooner theme team in 2021 and I limited myself to those who were entirely unpicked last year. But that could be a lucky break for you if that theme team doesn't participate this year.

Imagine there's a rather sizeable pileup atop the scoreboard currently

These are my three theme teams for 2022.

#1 Hits

My regular theme team of people who've had a record peak at #1 in the UK Singles Chart (either solo or as part of a group). 7th year in the DDP.

Last year's position on the team is given in brackets, where applicable.

1. (new) Gary Brooker (Procol Harum)
2. (1) Tom Parker (The Wanted)
3. (new) John Gorman (The Scaffold)
4. (10) Jane Morgan
5. (4) Willie Nelson (USA for Africa)
6. (16) Tony Bennett
7. (9) Bobby Charlton (England World Cup Squad '70)
8. (7) Chris Farlowe
9. (6) David Crosby (The Byrds)
10. (re) David Graham (Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band)
11. (8) Olivia Newton-John
12. (11) Rolf Harris
13. (5) Harry Belafonte
14. (re) Len 'Chip' Hawkes (The Tremeloes)
15. (new) Billy J. Kramer
16. (new) Ian Bairnson (Pilot)
17. (new) Ernest Ranglin (Commonwealth Band)
18. (new) Frankie Valli
19. (re) Jerry Lee Lewis
20. (new) Ray Stevens

This team had two hits in 2021: Sarah Harding (2) and Captain Tom Moore (3). Survivors dropped from the team are: Lou Gramm (12), Anne Nolan (13), Dave Ball (14), Trevor Oakes (15), Eddie 'Tan Tan' Thornton (17), Derv Gordon (18), Eric Burdon (19), and Bernard Cribbins (20).

Unpersons

My regular theme team of Big Brother housemates (including Celebrity Big Brother and other spin-offs). 7th year in the DDP.

Last year's position on the team is given in brackets, where applicable.

1. (2) Linda Nolan
2. (1) James Whale
3. (new) Becki Seddiki
4. (new) Adele Roberts
5. (4) Julie Goodyear
6. (5) Ken Morley
7. (9) Ron Atkinson
8. (10) Amanda Barrie
9. (6) Gary Busey
10. (11) Dirk Benedict
11. (15) Germaine Greer
12. (re) Christopher Biggins
13. (re) Carol McGiffin
14. (13) Winston McKenzie
15. (new) Daniel Baldwin
16. (new) Kirstie Alley
17. (new) Sally Morgan
18. (new) Renee Graziano
19. (new) Katie Waissel
20. (20) Lauren Harries

This team had three hits in 2021: Sarah Harding (2), Lionel Blair (7), and Nikki Grahame (17). Survivors dropped from the team are: Michael Barrymore (8), Ann Widdecombe (12), Stephen Bear (14), Lesley Brain (16), James Cosmo (18), and Jessica Alves (19).

Special:RandomInCategory/Living_people

My now-regular theme team in which I open 4000 random Wikipedia articles in the category 'Living people', and then whittle them down to the 20 who I believe are most likely to be hits this year. 2nd year in the DDP.

Names are presented as they are in their Wikipedia article titles, bracketed segments included; nevertheless, given the broad range of claims to fame and relative obscurity of the picks, I've included an extra column to clarify what they're known for.

1. Alfredo Astiz Notorious "Angel of Death" of the Argentine Navy
2. Mortimer Zuckerman Canadian-American media tycoon
3. Giora Eiland Former IDF Major General
4. Simone Segouin French Resistance fighter
5. Edwin Poots DUP leader (May 2021-June 2021)
6. Graham Ross (horticularist) Australian presenter
7. Vera McKechnie Original Andy Pandy narrator
8. James Roose-Evans British theatre director
9. Ken Bruen Noir writer
10. John Childs (murderer) "Britain's most prolific hitman", allegedly
11. Rodrigo Rato Spanish politician/money launderer
12. Jay Maisel New York photographer
13. Aisha Yesufu Nigerian activist
14. Freddy Quinn Austrian singer
15. Ravi Singh (humanitarian) Khalsa Aid founder
16. Ivan Putski Pro wrestler
17. Hazel Ascot "Britain's Shirley Temple", allegedly
18. Sami al-Oraydi Al-Qaeda affiliate
19. Abdullah Al-Rimi Al-Qaeda member
20. Mohammed Abdel Karim Al Ghezali Al-Qaeda member

This team had two hits in 2021: Andy Gray (actor) (3), and Jeannette Altwegg (17). Given the nature of the team, most survivors have been dropped, with the exception of Alfredo Astiz, a 2021 pick who happened to come up again in this year's 4000 candidates.
