Alright here's the test to see if everyone who replaced someone on their team with Andy Goram got their points.

I didn't expect him to give out points that fast, but he did.... Deborah James, aka Bowelbabe, died just a few days too soon to be a replacement for those who missed her at the beginning of the year. A tricky name for people on the American continent maybe, as her growing "fame" might have been less visible from a distance. Susie Steiner was another popular pick, in spite of her not having a Wikipedia page and her cancer only being mentioned by one QO source, but I see now that the BBC also gave her an obit. And finally, theatre master Peter Brook was a miss in the DDP but a unique hit for Torva Messor here, congratulations!

 

On the scoreboard, Banana's advantage of Salmon Mousse is still the same, but Banana's distance shrunk a little because msc is now a new second place.

An Fear Beag is silently creeping up the board and now in 4th. Book moves up to a strong 7th. And finally (!), Captain Hemlock receives his first points. So all players are now in the game.

Let's have a quick update, shall we? After all, we just got 4 quick hits in succession.

There is Jose Eduardo dos Santos as another replacement hit, three people score. There's also Larry Storch, a hit for four people. Only CalebH and GuyFromFuture picked Caaaaaaan, And then there is sports commentator John Gwynne, also picked only twice.

Banana extends his lead with the safe and sound Dos Santos replacement. Enough for him, his contenders went for the younger, riskier picks. Let's see if it works in the long run.

Time for an update.

First new hit, now already a month ago, is Bond theme composer Monty Norman. Unpicked in the DDP but here a unique hit for The Daredevil. Norman was a singer himself before turning to compositional work, not just for film music but also for big stars like Cliff Richard and Bob Hope. And then we have the names thankfully mentioned above. Michael Barratt, another Gooseberry Crumble unique hit, and Lily Safra a unique hit for Pedro. Vin Scully was picked by two teams. And then of course, national treasure Bernard Cribbins and international treasure Nichelle Nichols.

Carl Kabat has to wait for an obit. I think The New York Times seems like a reasonable bet.

Even more hits: Bill Russell was a unique pick for GuyFromFuture. I don't know... seems like half the picks lately are unique picks by either GuyFromFuture or The Daredevil... On the other hand, Fidel Ramos, the former president of the Phillipines, was a unique hit for Joe Moneypenny, congratulations! Then James Lovelock, yes, him, too. A pick for two teams. And apparently, Francisco Morales Bermudez is missing, too, a unique hit for chileanway. I guess I need shorter time periods between updates.

It sounds like a good philosophy for a player.

I'll keep that in mind. 

But not for an entire list.

I stand by what I said on the DDP front page some time ago. Crumble may not challenge for the title in many games, but his ability to sniff out off the radar notables, read between the lines on their health, and nab out of the blue unique hits is absolutely second to none on the forum. Take that Police Academy actress as an example.
