Iris Apfel.

Instead of just throwing random names on to the thread, perhaps you can explain why you're making that suggestion and who they are, also what they're famous/infamous for.  No point in saying they're getting old, that's no excuse.

Brinkwire haven't grasped the idea of this site. I guess they don't fully understand the difference between "wishful thinking" and "prediction"

Not the only thing Brinkwire haven't quite grasped.

Chicago Bears owner Virginia McCaskey (the daughter of George Halas) turned 99 years old today.  She seems to be in good health, and as proof of that, she still attends games.  Still, could be one to watch.

Her Wikipedia page seems to attract regular vandalism.

Can’t understand why? Is she controversial? Maybe one of our Murican cousins can explain.

I wasn't aware of any Wikipedia vandalism, and it looks normal as of now.  She doesn't seem like a controversial figure to me.  As an owner, she's been hands-off, so she doesn't get any criticism from Chicago sports fans for the underperformance of the team for most of the past 30 years or so.

So, depending on how the disease has addled her faculties, she might think she's still shagging Elvis!

Just saw this article on Englebert Humperdinck having cancelled his tour due to bronchial issues.

His wife died last year from Covid. Certainly with the new variant, this potentially puts him at risk.

Through he also had Covid at the same time and the new variant is less deadly.,

"Less deadly" for someone who is young, can't take that chance with someone who is 85 and has a lung infection.

I don't think I agree with this.

My dad is in his mid-70s and his health is fucked. He's just had the new COVID strain and he was absolutely fine, just had a little sniffle. It's a game of genetics in many instances. If Engelbert was fine with the much stronger delta variant, he'll be fine with a cold-like strain. Bronchial issues or not.

It varies among people. I know someone that spent a week in ICU from the strain. they're home now. Struggling but hopefully getting better and they're only in their 60s

Arthur Duncan, tap dancer and regular on the Betty White show 1952-1954 and member of Bob Hope's troupe is still alive and will be 89 this year. Mentioned on this forum once before in 2005

But they would have most likely been that had they caught an older variant.

Except it was recent and with the new variant.
