Heard today that Ray Reardon (snooker player) is looking at his last frame.

Probably won't make it to the 2023 list.

Any word on his Advent Avalanche chances?

Sir Trevor McDonald looks like he has lost a fair bit of weight so maybe one to keep an eye out in the coming years. Death-list worthy if his health declines or he reaches 90.

David McCallum turned 89 yesterday, already mentioned in the Birthday thread. This photo shared on Facebook was worth posting, however. Dunno if it was recent or old (his family member may know!) but too good not to share regardless.

Also, I am legit shocked David McCallum doesn't have his own thread. He's David McCallum!!!!

Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations 2008-2016 sounded pretty frail in one recent documentary on QEII. Also not sure if he attended her funeral.

However he's only 80 and three of his predecessors are still alive:

Shridath Ramphal (1928) 1975-1990

Emeka Anyaoku (1933) 1990-2000

Don McKinnon (1939) 2000-2008

Ramphal as far as I know hasn't attended any events in a few years, but Anyaoku was interviewed on the 9th of September. Don McKinnon attended the funeral.

The Duchess of Kent didn’t attend the Queen’s funeral yesterday. And have been frail for a long time.

The “great” James Watson will also be 95 next year, and so will Ethel Kennedy, Paul Dooley and James Ivory.

Many new solid DL candidates from 1928 to consider.

Watson is a must for next year. Big name in science, plus the casual racist title is vacant..

The death of the Queen reminds me of the once ubiquitous Sarah Bradford, the royal biographer, whose most recent television appearances (none that I have seen post the death of the Queen), have seen her wearing a hat, which makes one wonder about cancer. I read that she is now 84; would she be a big enough name for DL? I'm sure the Times and Telegraph would carry obituaries, and she is also Viscountess Bangor, for what that's worth.

There was a pretty large 99th birthday celebration for Indonesian former OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) Secretary General Subroto a few days ago, looks quite frail in the pictures:

Well, as I said elsewhere, I'm watching the Jeffrey Dahmer series on Netflix. His father, Lionel Dahmer, is still alive at 86 and retreated from the public eye in 2020.

Actor Derren Nesbitt is 87 years old, seems to be pretty frail too. Feels like one to watch in the next couple of years.

James Earl Jones good to put on the list now he's "officially" retired from voicing Darth Vadar. I mean he is 91.

One of the three (slightly) famous people that I have met - the other two being Micky Stewart and Gilbert O'Sullivan.

I don't think seeing the Queen's hat from 50 yards away counts, somehow.

The Oval was named after Micky (for the remainder of the season) in honour of his 90th birthday ... not sure whether he makes the fame test for the DL 50, though. I would still have Neil Harvey ahead of him if you're looking for a cricketer.

I couldn’t agree more; Jones is a must for the 2023 DL. And if the DL would like to include another old male Hollywood name next year, may I suggest Robert Wagner? A cinema icon from the 1950s onwards, he would be too big to miss (like Jones) and I see him going at 93 for some reason. And for a third male Hollywood type, Jack Nicholson wouldn’t be a bad 2023 DL inclusion.

On female Hollywood types, Joanne Woodward must return and Eva Marie Saint and Glynis Johns must be introduced on the 2023 DL. If room, maybe Lee Grant as well...
