According to the Mail, Alex Stepney, Paddy Crerand, John Aston, Brian Kidd, Sammy Mccllroy, Alan Gowling, Lou Macari, Willie Morgan and Martin Buchan were all there. So one assumes none of them have late stage dementia at least.

Also there was Mike Summerbee and Ian Callaghan.

11 in all, then, including an international keeper - did they not challenge anyone to a game?

The one person I would have expected to have been at Charlton's funeral but seemingly wasn't is David Beckham. I know he's a big name but pretty poor form him not attending in my view unless there was a very good reason.

He's in India on a UNICEF Goodwill trip (and seeing a bit of cricket).
