I think this might be it. 89 is a dangerous age for an old comic - Max Bygraves, Eric Sykes, Bill Maynard, Warren Mitchell etc

Speaking as an estranged child, it would take a hell of a lot to influence that decision.

Both Paul and Barry were able to step out of the shadow of their most famous characters/creations and have a disctinct public persona in their own right.

Maybe he's just Gladioli in.

(It's a very Scottish attempt at black humour).

I've my headline all prepared for consideration. Well, he is my Theme Team Joker on the Comedy team.

Oddly it makes kr sound like a doctor just came in and found him unconscious surprisingly when what actually happened is he just lost consciousness for the last time

It all feels a bit too goulish to be get so much updates.

Sounds like it's not going to be long-and in the same year as Paul O'Grady.

Not just the same year  but quite likely a day or two after Paul O'Gradys funeral.

'I can confirm that reports that Mr Humphries is unresponsive are incorrect. He’s stable,' the representative told Daily Mail Australia.

I guess there's some hope, but things are looking dire... :(

Being Reported as dead.

Sad news but I’m not sure it was surgery complications but the overall effect of actually breaking the hip as well.

Farewell possum, one of the sharpest brains in comedy. :rip:

There will now only be one Less Patterson.

Sad news, the only living great drag act of my youth is now Stanley Baxter. Impossible to believe he has gone, a clever man who took generation after generation under his spell with, what can only be described as, limited schtick - but never lost the ability to say something shocking without ever crossing the line of taste.

A sad loss, compensated by the points I'll get for my theme team joker.

Adieu, Barry, rest well - you earned it.

Go over there and let the doctors know they got it wrong then.

Sad news, though. An absolute comedy colossus, so naturally hilarious as Barry, as Edna, as whoever he was on any given day.
