My first votes in this! Haven't checked in for about a week and have discovered we're halfway through the next round! Some good songs in this. I'm a big Abba fan, and agree that Name of the Game is the best of these, although the rest are great. Knowing Me, Knowing You, Fernando, Dancing Queen then Mamma Mia I think (the last two probably just due to overfamiliarity - Dancing Queen is a guaranteed floor filler). Donna Summer captures the time it was written perfectly, proper disco classic, but not my favourite up here by any means. Got a real soft spot for Baccara's slightly broken English, and December 1963 is a tune. Most of the rest you can take or leave, including Elton and Kiki, although I love loads of Elton. I just can't get on board with those pink dungarees...

This is going to be a difficult one, the top ten are all perfectly fine songs. Elton's only number one until 1990 (!) is one of my least favourite of his big songs, typically.

As Drama Dancing Queen seems doomed, only too happy to help it on its way/

This is why almost every comedic version of a song - isn't. Or is worth one play and that's it. Alice being the exception.

The slightly annoying thing IMO with double A-sides in this game is that I Don’t Want To Talk About It is marvellous and worthy of the grand final, whereas The First Cut Is The Deepest is just 4 minutes of meh.

You only have to like one to buy the single. Mind you I had both the albums those songs were on, so I didn't even realise it was a double A side.

I suppose most of these singles had an inferior song on the B side, but there may also be some gems there.

This was released as a 'budget' double-A side single which no doubt helped its sales figures.

There's a suggestion that it was done to prevent the Sex Pistols from reaching number one (not a theory I subscribe to as it was released several weeks before GSTQ, and there's also the plausible argument that the sales figures were manipulated to keep the Sex Pistols off the top).
