I saw her yesterday. Physically she looked like a monster, she didn't seem to be very lucid and she asked for artichokes instead of flowers LOL Yet, I believe 2023 is not her year.

Oh poor Ornella, I really love her. She has disminished quite rapidly I think but she probably can last one more year I think (at least I hope, so I can put her on my list)

I'd add Mahathir Mohamad to 1925, got a lot of attention from BBC last year, if he keeps being a controversial powerhungry asshole maybe one day. However I don't think he'll live another year or two. But I think there's a chance he could end up on the list, atleast it at this point seems more likely than the Committee ever realizing Glynis Johns and Eva Marie Saint are still alive...

From the remaining world leaders born in the 1920s I think he's also the most likely pick. Personally I don't think they'd ever pick Giorgio Napolitano, Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Tomiichi Murayama, Sam Nujoma or any of those others.

 

 

Question, is there a chance they'd ever pick, for example, Paul Dooley? Katherine Jackson? Pat Robertson? Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, Isabel Peron?

I suppose, but then again Sandra Day O'Connor was suggested and they're pretty similar in levels of fame (at least to me) and it's not like Feinstein is a nobody, been in the Senate since 92 (3rd longest of the current 100 senators), first woman from California, has been making the news recently due to her health, should be the current President pro-tempore.

O'Connor is the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court so I would say is unquestionably notable enough.

 

 

Feinstein as you say passes the fame criteria as she is a long term Senator and has been quite a presence in Washington.When she dies be it today or in 15 years she will get an obituary from all the national news sites in the UK and it will most likely be mentioned on all news bulletins of the day albeit later in the programme depending on the news on said day.

On the subject of O'Connor, was there ever any real push for John Paul Stevens to make the list? Seems odd he never made it given his high profile and extreme age.
