Seriously doubt his consultant suggested additional baked goods and jam was an ideal treatment

Yeah I've always been a bit baffled by Macmillan Nurses using coffee mornings as a funding method - people stuffing themselves with cake is more of a marketing drive for more business I would have thought.

Jane Birkin looking awful at this night cérémonie des Cesar, after her 2021 stroke. A shame she didn’t get that Cesar for best documentary, I don’t think she could ever get another one

Well, Birkin has canceled her show of the 3rd of march because of a broken shoulder blade. Also, the articles says that, in addition to her stroke, she fought two cancers in the last few years. She also stated that she doesn’t feel well these days. Worthy of her own thread ? I’d say yes.

I love individual thread. It’s easier to keep track of someone ealth  battle rather than post every details in a general topic + the « dead tag » always hits different than just the mere report of a death in a general topic.

I can see Eamonn Holmes, who is back on air in a few days time, going within five years or so as well. I just get the feeling he won’t make old bones.

Just seeing him, and he appears to have aged awfully in a short space of time. Maybe Ruthie:’s got a big insurance policy and is shagging him to death?

The site has a load of people with lower "rankings" a few of them never mentioned here before, for example "Uncle Jack", a decrepit 99-year-old "TikTok Star" who was in hospital with a hernia, sepsis and UTI in November last year. Must be somewhat famous as he's apparently got over a million followers or subscribers there.

My understanding is that it's voted by users. You click "boost" and their name rises in the ranking. However, the site has been populated by teenyboppers since it was created in 2012. Most of the users now probably weren't born then. That's why there are so many TikTok Stars. The Most Popular page is very telling. The average age is 24, with the oldest (living) being Kim K who might as well belong in a nursing home at 42.

Sad to report this as I'm a big fan but Kevin Whateley really didn't look or sound especially good in the Inspector Morse/Endeavour tribute programme just aired on ITV.  Hopefully just ageing and nothing serious.

I found out on Tumblr of all places that a writer by the name of Rachel Pollack is in a hospice because of cancer. Neil Gaiman posted about it. Has her own Go Fund Me and has a Wikipedia.

She created the first trans superhero, in Doom Patrol in '93.

Probably won't make end of the year but for anyone doing a certain deathpool for April it might be good.

I think it might be too late for that. ;)

You missed Nina Myskow (1946-) and Katie Boyle (1926-2018) who are definitely in this and appear in the credits. Myskow makes it 20.

Edit: on closer inspection, Eric Knowles (1953-), Kate O'Mara (1939-2014) and according to the credits, Phillippa Forrester (1968-) are also in it.

I’ve seen three of those in person. I am tempted to resurrect an old DDP tram of people I’ve seen in person

There's a lady between Little and Large that's not been identified yet.

Also who are the two with Sharp, Holmes and Hewer?

Also on there is the late Felix Bowness and Pat Coombs.

The grey haired bloke with Sharp, Holmes and Hewer is Dennis Quilley (1927-2003). Not sure about the youngish looking woman, maybe that's Philippa Forrester?

I wonder who the last survivor of this will be. Probably Andi Peters.

As an aside it's sad to see a healthy looking Roy Castle who would be dead within 18 months.

That is Philippa Forrester between Little and Large, although the bouffant hair really isn't flattering.

As mentioned in the Genesis thread, what Rutherford actually said was “he’s much more immobile than he used to be”. Watching it, I really take “used to be” to be referring to before the recent Genesis reunion and not a new development.

The BBC documentary series on the French bombing of Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior has an interview with French secret agent/bomber Jean-Luc Kister, who is still alive and must be well into his 70s at least by now. (He retired in 2000.) He considers the mission a failure as people weren't meant to die from the big explosives he attached to their ship.
