Congratulations to my first round opponent Wannamaker for a fine victory.

Thanks Sean, I would've preferred if we both had scored points, but sadly (for deadpooling purposes) February was a very dull month for cup deaths.

Perhaps and me are playing a 6 a side game with no jokers in play. **=unique

Perhaps 6 - "Superstar" Billy Graham, D Srinivas, Denny Crum, Freddy Quinn**, Guy Saint-Vil**, Ion Iliescu

GUN 6 - Girish Bapat, James Whale, Mark Pilgrim, Robert Zimmer**, Teresa Taylor, Thijs Slegers**

If Denny Crum is a dead cert it's a bit annoying because whenever I tried to click on links to news about him I was blocked 'for legal reasons' - frigging Brexit!

And re my list I presume that Teresa Taylor is dead off radar but encouraged that others have picked her too.

I am glad for non deadpooling reasons that it was a quiet month and also personally as I am super busy at the moment and if I had to submit a team for the next round it would have been uninspired and a poor list anyway.Plus I don`t have time to follow the game closely.

@An Fear Beag Game on!

The classic clash of 2 styles - the ICU cases vs the "Could die tomorrow, could last 12 months" Drop 40 names.

Those sort of games make me nervous. I am definitely favourite to win it (Tom Sizemore alone should give me a big advantage, assuming his family don't play silly buggers). However, all it takes is for the hopelessly dying obscure picks to all miraculously pull through,  and for Bob Barker and Linda Nolan to suddenly decide that *this* is their month to snuff it, and before you know it, I am dumped out again. Been there before!

Best of luck - you will need it :D

That looks like a good match-up. I'd probably make Perhaps a slight favourite to win it, but it could go either way - you have some good prospects in Pilgrim, Zimmer and Slegers.

I would be surprised if Taylor died off radar - I would have thought she is famous enough that someone would have mentioned it somewhere. I could be wrong- certainly would be the first time!

Regarding Denny Crum, I couldn't find any news to says whether or not he is a dead cert this month - nothing new since December from what I could see. However I am not on Facebook/Twitter etc, so maybe something  has come up. I did pick him on my team anyway, because I followed my golden rule. If a @BananaDeathrace pick is still alive by the time the Cup rolls around, they are on my team unless there is a very good reason not to pick them.

I'm sure it's a good rule - actually I forgot to scour the surviving Deathrace picks this time round - I need to do an SOP for playing this game!

Could be worse, Grim, I just picked living names from my DDP team and now run the risk of losing to someone who picked Jamie Vardy!

It’s a bit of fun for me - I don’t have the time to do major research to see which random person I’ve never heard of is about to kick the bucket any second. I just go with my gut instinct and we’ll see what happens. If that means I don’t get far in the game then so be it!

You’re right on both accounts - you are the favourite, but yes you should also be nervous

Don't know, but I regret not thinking of him for my fun DL Cup football squad (I mean, I literally had Eric Bailly and Aaron Ramsey on my main team and Granit Xhaka as one of my subs).

If you were to unironically ask me for a "name" footballer of the modern era who won't see 50, I think Jamie Vardy would be my top pick tbh. Lot of rumours out there about what his "energy drink" consumption actually is code for.

Teresa Taylor still posts irregularly on Facebook, the last time 8 hours ago. I also assume that it is she herself who writes.

Twitter now saying Golden Era porn star Sharon Mitchell is out of intensive care and getting ready to go home. So maybe don't steal that pick for April's round?

Yeah I don’t really see why people think Teresa Taylor died off radar. Butthole Surfers are decently well known in music circles, there certainly would be at least some mention of her demise whenever she dies

I was going to ask what defines the "Golden Era" of porn, but I am not absolutely sure I want to know the answer to that

I didn't realise that Taylor was the Butthole Surfers drummer on Locust Abortion Technician, I thought she was only the drummer for their really early stuff. That puts her up to maybe a 40% (DDP) QO shot for me rather than my original 5% guess.

Period when Americans sat in movie theaters (sic) to wank, before home video allowed them to wank off on their couches.

I was just joking, @TQR. My chances are few.

Your team is very consistent and strong.

It's not a surprise, especially considering what a great player you are.

Obviously Vardy is well past that age but I’ve had this feeling for a while a notable footballer will go at 27 in a 27 club style incident.
