I've lost interest again, nothing here is terrible.

There's too few of us for what we choose to be statistically significant, so it's just a bunfight between the individual tastes. 

FWIW I disagree about bottom two and top four especially snap, but not nearly enough to fight about it (even though I have prior votes for both) and will vote bottom places down to move on.

I knew I’d be happy with the top 4 when there were about 10 or 12 songs left. Wouldn’t have been pissed off in the slightest if Snap or the No No song had made the final but yeah, let’s just move it on now.

Regarding the 'top 4' thing, the rules as described at the start are contradictory. It says 'From each round 5 songs will enter the last round, the Grand Final, consisting of 25 songs', but then proceeds to state how 4-7 songs from each round go through. 5 ≠ 4-7, and in fact none of the rounds send 5 to the final.

 

I can see that there were more no.1s in the later years of the decade, but giving them extra weighting skews their representation in the final round, and I'm not sure why that's a good thing? The 80s contest just went with 5 from each round, which is fairer to my mind.

It seemed fairer to me because there is such a huge disparity between the number of songs from the early 90's and the late 90's. But it's a fun game, not rocket science. Of course, the rules can be discussed and changed, adjusted and tweaked for future rounds.
