I'm a little worried a Blur win in this round might make an anti-Beetlebum sentiment in the next round. Hopefully I'm wrong, since that's a fantastic song.

With six places in the next round I don't think it will be too bad for them. The multiple entries for people like The Spice Girls, Peter Andre and solo members of Take That are more likely to present a problem

I recognise more titles in 96/97 but doesn't I like them more

Just trying to pick my six to champion

Certainly are. Not enough -6 to go around.

1996-97

Return of the Mack

Lou Reed

Maybe Spaceman, Jesus to a Child, Breakfast at Tiffanys, No Doubt if lost for things to up vote.

Not a great wilderness approaches.

It does actually improve in 1998/99 despite all the Westlife clones that need put down.

Will that be before or after Teletubbies say Eh-oh and I Believe I Can Fly?

I’ll eat Tubby Custard for breakfast, lunch and dinner until Jesus To A Child is crucified.

I prefer other George Michael songs, but his tribute to his AIDS dead boyfriend is still better than most of its fellow number ones from the time period.

Anyone else sing this in the style of Keith Harris & Orville?

The next round contains a lot of rubbish, but also 3 or 4 songs that I want to give my full points to. It will be difficult to make positive decisions here...

Taking songs purely as how good they are as songs, it’s pretty much bottom of the list for me. All things considered, it’s a different story. But the 90s was a fun, lively, diverse, brilliant decade for music and my points will go to the songs that encapsulate that.

Anyway, looking ahead to the next couple of years, there are at least a dozen I think deserve points, and at least a dozen that need binning ASAP.
