Ironic Kind of It doesn't look like he suffered at all.The collapse looked like an act which got the laugh which in turn masked the laboured irregular breathing. They get posted with the claim that they were taken on his birthday in 2016, two days prior to his death, but there is no evidence to suggest this - they were simply published that day on Bowie's social media channels and were likely taken in 2015. Anyway - here's the last photo of Bowie we can be sure of. He's leaving the Lazarus premiere on 7 December 2015, his first public appearance in a long time and of course his last too.
